Like a lot of players but a favourite would have to go back to childhood. So growing up it was Kevin Keegan, remember listening to Radio 2 with the old man when Liverpool played St Etienne and Fairclough scored the winner. Radio 2 only used to broadcast the second half!!

Then the final against Borussia Mönchengladbach and KK roasting Berti Vogts.

    non English would be Pele.

I know a lot of people hate Cristiano Ronaldo for his arrogance but his power and skills make him the best player to watch in current football IMO, similarly with Bale (without the arrogance).

Dembele is a slightly obscure player that I love to watch, his feet are ridiculous for a big man and again he has the strength to power past opponents.

Zizou and Ronaldinho were probably the most entertaining players in my memory, such effortless footballers

Present: I guess I can't look past Messi. Love Iniesta, though.

Past: Zidane had such grace. And Maradona was an arse, as great as he was.

    Pele, you say? Pfft.

I ****ing love Fantasy Football. There's loads of stuff from it on youtube.

Jason Lee, Jesus Christ.... he was essentially the opposite of what this thread is about.

He was basically a pretty good third-tier target man. His problem was he spent more than half his career failing at a higher level (mainly with a fairly big club).

Jimmy Johnstone, i loved ball dribblers when i was kid.

Fat Jan Molby, as i got a bit older i began to recognise the beauty of passing the ball.

Peter Schmeichel, the best keeper ever.

Don't want to sound negative but I think people are a bit too sentimental on threads like this.

"Player X was the best ever, and always will be." What the ****?
