Pretty much the same as Craig's thread. All copyright and trademarks belong to him blah blah blah...

Try an pick one who is currently playing and one for all-time, but they can't have ever played for City or been involved in their playing career.

    For me:

    Current - Zlatan Ibrahimovic

    All-Time - Zinedine Zidane

ive not really seen enough of players playing outside English leagues , but Maradona was by far the best player ive seen anywhere.

but keeping it more relative to my bread n butter football - as i just posted on t'other fred ;)

from another club ? Dalglish then Cantona .
who has played for England ? Beardsley then Gazza

Current - Messi (Boring I know but for all his talent and cash he seems a decent bloke and not a prima donna)

Past - Ian Rush He could have probably scored in his sleep.

Again a tough one as you could name so many.

All time, I find it difficult (although many have come close) to find anyone better than the legendary Pele

Present, again from that side of the world Messi has to top the list for me

    Currently - Ibrahimovic or Berbatov

All time - so many. Del Piero probably. Then there's Zizou, Gattuso, Henry, Larsson etc. right up there

Oh and Maldini, and makalele. Jesus, footballers used to be so much more likeable!

maybe it's just nostalgia speaking, but it's much easier to pick players of the last 15 years than it is last couple of years

Thierry Henry for goals. George Best for skill. Stuart Pearce for passion and sheer balls.

Almost put him in. I loved Italian football! Still do but its lost a bit of magic.

Could be, or it could be that there wasn't as much negative publicity about them. Hence why many of the players are from foreign leagues, you didn't read the stories, just saw the talent.
