The return of Tettey has also been a factor, but surely one player in the middle of the park should not make that much difference?
I think there's a few reasons it helps. Firstly most teams we've played have 3 central midfielders, so when we're matching them we're not getting over-run. The third midfielder also offers another passing option in the middle of the park, helping us keep possession. It also frees up Fer much more, who seems shackled in a 4-4-2. When Fer, Tettey or Johnson feel they can push forwards, there's more fluidity in the middle of the park.
And our players look like they are on the same wavelength now. I think injuries severely effected our season. Tettey is like a January signing! Got Howson to come back yet!
I am already beginning to wish we had not scored that - I am finding too hard to watch now as I am half expecting us to screw it up
Ruddy on fire today. This is so tense it's ridiculous. Paulinho replaced by Soldado, that's 4-4-2 with not a lot of defensive midfield cover.
