Injury time goal sees Villa losing at Newcastle - another result going our way this weekend (only if we take advantage, that is)
Interesting line up - the wolf must be like a fecking porn star in training/behind closed doors. He really has performance issues when the cameras are on him though
A lot of faith In RVW here. Let's hope we see some of that price tag in goals. If we were to win we would be level with Villa on points.
Personally I'm still behind him, he looks a quality player just lacking in confidence, and it's hard to get that back when you're only getting about one shot a match. He just needs a bit of luck, like I'd love to see him win and convert a penalty today that puts us 1-0 up with Spurs down to 10 men. Or a Spurs defender to play a suicidal backpass and gift him an easy one-on-one to score from, or... you get the picture. I don't think we'll see him at his best this season, but with some better midfielders supplying him, I'm hopeful that should we stay up he'll kick on next season.
Without doubt, the way we are playing now is so much better than what we were being served up in December. Although we are struggling to break Spurs down, I am actually quite content with what City are doing (on the whole)
Agreed, we're playing well, we're just not getting the breaks. This is going to be like the West Ham, Cardiff and United games again where we're creating chances, won't take them, then Spurs will score second half and we're screwed.
Yeah, "well" is in comparison to some of the previous dross. We're still short of being a fluid team, but if we were then we'd never be in the position we are.
If we can keep this up second half I'll be happy, and Howson, Hooper and Pilks offer genuine options should Hughton decide to "freshens things up".
It's frustrating for sure but the recent performances are beginning to sway me in to thinking that perhaps CH is getting things to turn around. Okay, maybe a bit too slowly and maybe a bit too late, but there are signs that changes are finally happening. Whether it will be enough to ensure survival remains to be seen, and something I am not convinced will happen, only because we don't score enough, but maybe CH staying (whatever happens), might...just might be the right thing to do! Did I really say that
Funny how it seems to have coincided with him ditching the 4-4-2... I don't know, things are slightly better on the pitch, but we're not getting the results. From Villa onwards, we need points every game, and I don't know whether the improvements we've seen recently are enough to get that, or the "boost" from a new manager would help. I no longer think we'll make 38 points irrespective of who's in charge, so we need someone to mess up. The WBA, Stoke and Sunderland games are going to be massive.
5live have apparently been chatting to a Norwich steward, who reckons that Neil Lennon is staying in a hotel in the Norwich area this weekend. Probably BS, but there we go.
