The striker has joined the Swans for a fee of £3.5million as Brendan Rodgers plans for life in the Premier League. Graham, who scored 27 goals in all competitions for the Hornets last season, confirmed the agreement on his Twitter account. He said: "It's now official, I am a Swansea City player. Passed medical. Now bring on Manchester City."
Great news - think it was a great bit of business getting Graham! Have noticed that the HJ knockers are conspicuous by their absence on the new board. Only to be expected though - can't understand how anyone can criticise the man after what he has achieved the last few years!
Quality, quality news. I had a horrible feeling his agent would get in his ear and say "we could still get you more money elsewhere" but he seems to genuinely like the idea of playing for us. Awesome.
Scottswan-I was like you and began fearing we would be gazumped but as you say he seems determined to be part of the squad/club Brendan seems to have made hell of an impression on people he's previously worked with Happy days
I think graham will prove to be a very prudent signing young hungry and an eye for goal.Also will fit into our system of play
I don't think anyone else could have bought him because the contract was already signed. That's my understanding.
The Brendan effect was evident the very first game of the season - the players actually looked like they were thoroughly enjoying their football - which was a stark contrast to the second half of the previous season under Sousa. Rodgers has really built a family spirit at the club with every player putting his body on the line for the team, and whenever I have heard him in interviews he has come a cross as a level headed, decent and extremely likeable guy, no wonder players he has previously worked with jump at the chance to link up with him again.
