That happens so often with us. The defender (in this case Johnson) gets dragged by the overlap even though he's the only man between the player in possession and a shot on goal.

well fair point, but i don't remember us being this bad.

unless johnson gets the winner in any of the remaining games this season he can **** off, rest well debatable.

What was that from Hendo. We mess about with the ball at the back to much sometimes and end up with a panic pass giving the ball away.

2nd half we need to tighten up at the back and in midfield. Coutinho has been anonymous today. If Coutinho goes off do we bring Allen or Tex on?

Hopefully Swansea will tire after Napoli midweek. Some of their pressing was fantastic that half. The tempo was insane at times.

Same. Push Henderson on a bit. We'll be a lot more solid that way and won't be as susceptible to counter attacks.

    Well, mixed half.

Harsh to blame the defense as much as people are doing. Swansea can't run at the defense unless the midfield are missing and Henderson and Coutinho have offered very little to the defensive work. Rodgers needs to kick them into shape. They can't become complacent because it's Swansea at home, they need to work as hard as they did against Arsenal (league).

  12. You could see he didn't want to pass it but felt he had to follow instructions.

Definitely Allen. Can hopefully come things down and help us keep the ball. Tex is too much of an unknown quantity at this point.

I think we'll see Canas coming on for JDG soon and Pablo for either Dyer or Routledge.
I'm knackered watching that, so can only imagine how the players are feeling.

You'd hope that footballers were smart enough to realise that with 1 minute to go before half time, the sensible and right thing to do would be to just clear your lines. I do wonder sometimes though

  17. I agree but would Brod give them a rollicking for booting it if there is (in his mind) a pass on?

A minute can be a long time when you do stupid things. We lost a 2-0 lead in 3 minutes and 44 seconds.

This. I think we started the game too high. A few passes and Swansea had by passed Suarez, Sturridge, Sterling, Coutinho and Henderson. That's committing too many players forward. At 2-0 there was no need for both Henderson and Coutinho to go at the same time.

Not as much of a bollocking than if the pass gave away a goal and made us lose 2 points. Although saying that, never know from Rodgers!
