I have actually just watched on you tube the unfolding drama of the promotion game again. Still sends a shiver down my spine. Never thought Cardiff would be struggling at this stage. There are still not many points in it from 10th down so keep the faith. I don't really feel that we are home and dry yet. As for the comment that Bruce is the kind of manager Cardiff need. That is my one worry, that another club will come in for him and he will decide he has had enough of the mad Allams. Despite his diplomacy who knows what he actually feels.

Fair play to ‘em for that, but I do recall them properly celebrating the genuine Watford equaliser.

Still a long way to go fellas, plenty more twists and turns to come. I think Fulham are beyond hope now, Sunderland just looked awful yesterday and I can see them getting humped by Man C in the cup and continuing in that vein for the rest of the season, leaving 6 teams to fight it out.

Fates in your own hands really, and I hope you stay up. If nowt else, the look on a Swans fan's face I work with after that first game you played them this season was bloody priceless.

This apart from possible imminent extinction of our club is our biggest threat.

He will be getting headhunted soon.

What motivates him? Being well regarded and under no pressure here?

Or the hassle that comes with increased expectation at a nominally 'bigger' club?

Bruce never stops singing the Allam's praises. Their relationship is very good according to him.

Thank God AA leaves all team matters to SB, or we would be in a similar situation to CCFC, horses for courses.

As part of the MOTD coverage last night they put up Cardiff's remaining fixtures and I honestly didn't think they seemed too bad. You've got the firepower to save you but OGS needs to get some fire in the belly.

When you get to this stage it's not the dog in the fight it's the fight in the dog.

To be honest Cardiff out played us for large portions of the game and the final score did not do them justice. If their defence had been as strong as ours it would of been a much tighter game. If OLe can tighten their defence I think they can survive, we on the other hand need to tighten the midfield they seem to give the ball away too much even though Thud and Livemore where on the score sheet.

Wouldn't write yourselves off just yet. Lot of football to be played and a win and a draw or two could make things look very different, very quickly.

Fulham are gonners in my opinion and Norwich will struggle in the crucial last half dozen games. Sunderland could suffer the cup win/letdown syndrome that sometimes happens and their run-in is scary. Even your near neighbours are no great shakes just now.

6 of your remaining fixtures are against teams in the bottom half, and whilst I haven't checked it may be that results go for you on days you grab a win or draw and the rivals slip up.

Might get worse before it gets better and it's always darkest before the dawn.

I know there is a lot of ifs and buts in this post and a good smattering of clichés, but you need to stick with the players and OGS and forget Tan - trenches mode.

Not over by any means and the Fat Lady ain't even Gargling yet.

Re Oldsparky: Thanks for the post, I was at Ninian Park the last time we scored 4 in Cardiff, I believe John Toshack played that day, and we were both in similar situations then. Didn't make this game but none the less I hope things improve for you until the end of the season. As has been pointed out we have an affinity with Cardiff and there are other teams I would rather see go down other than yourselves, although we are not totally safe yet. Best wishes in your future games and may we both come head to head again next season

Hey thanks for the comments guys. I've had time to reflect from the initial disappointment of yesterday and feel a bit more upbeat having looked at the table this morning.

I even stuck a thread up on our board earlier in that vein. We still have a lot to do and although nowhere near confident that we can do it, it is more than possible given the opposition we face in this last eleven games - almost (but not quite) in our own hands.

See you've still got West Brom, Stoke and Fulham to play amongst your fixtures - all contributions will be gratefully recieved. <ok>

Looking at the 19 other clubs in the PL, who would Bruce realistically leave us for? Not sure that many of them would be that tempting for him to leave a club where he is wanted (seems to be very important with Bruce), is supported and has a good working relationship with owner/chairman. He has built his own team here, an honest, hardworking, good footballing team who appear to have a togetherness which a lot of clubs don't seem to have. We can assume that at least 8 or 9 of those teams (at the top end of the league) would want someone else, someone who is for want of better word current. Bruce is old school and although he is getting nice comments atm it's still in the context of being slightly surprised, punching above his weight and so won't be too surprised if it all goes wrong. He suits us just fine and we suit him. Bruce and City (and Hull as a city come to that) are similar in lots of ways, think that's why it works so well. He isn't sexy and neither are we.

    Speak for yourself <ok>

Money talks I'm afraid. Always has done, always will do.

Whilst it's tempting to think he 'likes' us, in reality it's a job to him and he knows how quickly you go from hero to zero at this level.

Money does talk sometimes but it's not what motivates everyone thankfully.
