Piffle! 71% of the votes cast in the last election were wasted or excessive, added to the 65% turn out, the key decision as to who will govern was decided by less than 20% of the voting electorate. Nationalistic Tiger's dream may become a reality as -mainly due to the above narrow margins of 'effective' votes and a reactionary, partisan media, we are vulnerable to a sudden far right electoral swing. In other words, a party such as UKIP could easily gain an Alliance stronghold in UK policy-making with less than a 10-12% national share of the vote ...happy days
It is a ****s trick - but half my family are playing ****s tricks with the system at the other end with disabilities and tax credits. I don't blame people for trying to make the best of the (borderline legal) situation for themselves - humans are animals and animals find niches for themselves in whatever ecosystem presents itself. My purpose is not to push self interested humans towards how I think they should behave - my idea would be to have a system which works around how humans do actually behave.
