Thats the crucial point - we haven't beaten another team in the top 6 this season other than Derby. What chance do we have in the play-offs.
Exactly. The way we are playing we won't make the play-offs. If we do our record against the better teams don't make winning them a likely prospect.
We've got to endure the next couple of months, I see no reason to let Redknapp escape from that. Obviously the board should be sorting out who his successor will be. Rather than rush at this I think they should take some good advice to help appoint the right man. We really can't afford to get this wrong again.
Who should they be taking advice from Roller? Terry Venables....I'm afraid he's been out of the game a little too long know, and, love him as I do, he's part of the football mafia old guard. I'm struggling here.
Warnock is only just out of the game, as is Francis. Not happy with them, how about Ollie? I wouldn't want him back as manager, but I'd listen to his opinion. Much as I detest the guy, I'd try to talk to Ferguson, and, of course, I'd still talk to Venables, he is no fool.
I'm partly in this camp, think there's been a good change around over 12 months however do think that all (players, Harry, coaches, TF & Beard) could/should be doing better. Players are under performing do think this is related to the number of loans + balance of team. Harry does stick with favourites + also some strange tactics & team selections Coaches partly responsible for under performing players + also seem to get more than our fair share of niggling injuries TF certainly shown naivety with contracts etc + inconsistent with manager support with the injuries during the transfer window if serious about promotion we needed to get the right players in but left things were left late & went for numbers over quality. Beard what does he do?
Warnock - too much near term history, and he's a dinosaur just like H; Gerry - good call as an advisor; Ollie - given his road to Damascus moment he'd probably recommend someone I'd like, but he runs on passion. Ferguson - ddin't he recommend Moyes to the Glazers? I'd prefer Wenger or Mourinho's view as to which up and coming coach should be given a chance to build a dynasty. It's certainly a massive opportunity for someone, as long as TF keeps his patience. I just hope we don't end up with one of the old names, no matter how impressive their CV is.
I'm trying to remember back to Porto, does Mourinho know how to build a club? Wenger yes, if he'd talk to us. I reckon that Warnock would still have a valid opinion on up and coming coaches, but as ever it depends on what TF and the other investors are looking for. Promotion at all costs, or building a proper club. I fear that the modern day game does not really allow for the correct path.
Let's be honest, 4th placed at this time in the season isn't bad when you consider the pile of crap we had to ship out after we came down. I think everyone's expectations were set high when we started the season well, but in reality this team is a border-line playoff team, we will need another season to build the squad. The quality of the players won't change with a new manager, but ultimately Harry is responsible for not addressing our striker issue in either windows, but a new manager at this stage will not improve the team enough to give us an automatic promotion spot.
Stay from me, you'd have to be an idiot to change at this time in the season As usual, I'm still waiting (3 weeks now) for someone to namea manager who would make us any better or achieve any more with this bunch For me; we change inthe summer and accepta few years in the NPC with anew man. We give him a long term(5-10yr) contract and buy into his ideas.... We could prob get Pearson as he'll be sacked before Xmas anyway. Has to be one of our own, a QPR man and someone we can believe in..Ollie maybe, not wild thing but there must be others Personally (going against my whole post) I want OGSOLK
Surely thats an honest opinion, theyd only pick stay because they'd want the humiliation to continue.
