When does Rosenior deserve to join our brigade of 'possible but unlikely' England hopefuls? Seems highly unlikely he'd be given a call-up with the likes of Johnson, Walker, Clyne, etc but in terms of defending Rosey is class. If we call for Thudd to go I think Rosey deserves a shout, both behind Davies though, who's the only one who I believe should go even when I take off my black and amber tinted spectacles.

Davies HAS to go. Sadly, he plays for Hull City so that means he has no chance. Expect the usual **** ie Cleverley, Smalling and Young.

    I'd take:

    Hart
    Forster
    Butland

    Johnson
    Walker
    Baines
    Davies
    Terry
    Cahill
    Jagielka
    Gibbs

    Gerrard
    Lallana
    Barkley
    Milner
    Wilshere
    Barkley
    Townsend
    Carrick

    Sturridge
    Rooney
    Rodriguez
    Carroll

    Woops. <doh>

Probably go for Sterling if he maintains his good form at Liverpool. Henderson and Ince also possible shouts.

I'd expect Sterling or Chamberlain to go.

Chamberlain has to go, specially with the absence of Walcott, class act the boy is.

Surely you'd take them both. Our two best wingers aren't they?!

I hope we take the following to Brazil. Don't think Roy is considering Hudd. It'll be a travesty if Davies is left out for Smalling. Not sure if Terry is available for selection though.

    Hart
    Forster
    Butland

    Johnson
    Walker
    Baines
    Davies
    Terry
    Cahill
    Jagielka
    Gibbs

    Gerrard
    Henderson
    Barkley
    Milner
    Wilshere
    Chamberlain
    Townsend
    Carrick
    Sterling

    Sturridge
    Rooney
    Rodriguez
    Lambert

Not yet, Hodgson has said he's not considering him because he's not declared he's available.

Or it might be because he said he's retiring from the national side in 2012.

Yes, he said he wasn't considering him because "John Terry has retired and as far as I'm concerned that is the situation."

People seem to have taken that as him closing the door on a return. It just as easily looks like he's saying he's not going to go trying to talk him back in, but if JT were to come out of international retirement then he would start to consider him for selection. I know he went on to say about managing in the future without him etc, but it was all done in the context that 'this is the situation, so this is what we're doing' and in a way that suggested the situation could change.

Terry won't go cos Woy wecognises a **** when he sees one.

The only City player whose got a realistic chance is Davies.

Hudd won't go unless there are some injuries before the end of the season. There are too many other players who catch the eye and let's face it, he hasn't been that good since Fulham.

It doesn't matter whether he's a ****. If they are good enough, take them. Terry would be in my starting XI if available.

Johnson and Walker will be the two right backs in the squad, with Smalling and Jones 99.99% likely to also be there. Smalling will be seen as cover for centre back or right back while Jones can cover both those positions and defensive midfield if needed. I can't see the latter two starting as Cahill and Jagielka will be starting centre backs (bar injury).

It means no space in the squad for other right backs but if there did happen to be injuries who else is there? On current form you'd have to put the next group in this order:

    Chambers
    Rosenior
    Clyne
    Lowton

Still, I expect if Johnson or Walker do get injured before the World Cup he'd just pencil Smalling in there and add another centre back like Dawson instead.

Post World Cup i'd probably have 5 Soton players in the squad.

    Lallana
    Rodriguez
    Shaw
    Clyne
    Ward-Prowse

And i'd have Chambers and Lambert on the fringes.

Doesn't Clyne start ahead of Chambers for Southampton?

But who would you take out from my midfield? Barkley maybe? Dropped off since his injury but still a very talented player, better than Townsend for me.

I wouldn't take Lambert personally; Rooney, Sturridge and Rodriguez are all better so I'd have Carroll as my fourth seen as though he gives you something different, and can be unplayable at times.
