Bad day at the office for you lot. Frankly, this was always on the cards wasn't it? Arsenal was on the wrong end of a lesson midweek, they were always gonna bounce back and take it out on you. Bit like us getting drubbed by Chelsea the other week.

This is the time of year where the smaller squads just are running on empty and these rich teams with bigger squads just walk all over us.

It's just one result. So you got nothing at Arsenal away this season. Not a huge surprise.

It's a problem if players are thinking about some cup final when not getting relegated has to be priority. Remember what happened to Brum a few years ago.

It's the manner though. You'd think we were safe the way we played today. Stood off and let them walk through us for 90 minutes. We had little chance of getting anything out of the game but we'll never know as they didn't even try.

It's not up to Gus if they feel aggrieved or not, that's a personal thing. For example, if Giacc is on the bench next Sunday would he be right to feel aggrieved?

personally i think giacc should be involved but thats my opinion

Sunderland boss Gus Poyet: "The combination of Arsenal playing well and us being poor on the ball made it difficult for us.

"We needed to be organised and see the danger but they punished us. Then we made a mistake for the second goal, which we never make, and that made it tough.

"Then we had to make sure we didn't concede another three or four in the second half because that would have been embarrassing.

"Sometimes you need to accept that we were second best. Credit to Arsenal.

"Wembley could have been on the players' minds but this was a very good wake up call. If we play like this against Manchester City we could be embarrassed."

Skipper's message following defeat in London.
John O'Shea admits the defeat at Arsenal has been a “wake-up call” for his side.
Sunderland suffered a 4-1 reverse at the Emirates Stadium in their final league game before the Capital One Cup final at Wembley.
Olivier Giroud broke through early on and then added a second goal before Tomas Rosicky made it 3-0 just before the break.
Laurent Koscielny then added a close-range header before Emanuele Giaccherini scored a fine consolation for the visitors late on.
And O'Shea is keen to learn the lessons from an afternoon which he says was in sharp contrast to the side's other performances away from home of late.
“You're fully aware coming to the Emirates that it can be a tough day, but we helped Arsenal out a little bit with the way we underperformed in the first half,” O'Shea told SAFSee.
“It was very disappointing because of how we'd been performing away from home, going unbeaten for a few months.
“It's frustrating but also a good wake-up call to realise the standards we've set for ourselves.”
Sunderland were much improved in the second half, with Gus Poyet making a pair of substitutions at the break.
But there was no way back for the Black Cats, who suffered their first defeat in seven away games.
“First and foremost you look at yourself and how you can do better, then the team as a unit,” O'Shea added.
“The second half was a little bit better – we started well but then conceded from a corner which knocked the stuffing out of us.
“We responded again; Emanuele scored a good goal and we could have had a couple of others with some good counter-attacks.
“It's a wake-up call for us, both in the league and ahead of next weekend.”
He added: "We have to make sure we look at ourselves individually and collectively, dust ourselves down and go again."

Absolutely agree 100% with this. Love Bardo me and fail to see how he was at fault with ANY of the goals today?
