Very good results all around. Cardiff and Fulham are going to find it difficult to escape now, as CT predicted. Sunderland's 4-1 thrashing at Arsenal won't lift their morale. A result against Spurs would certainly help though!

We have an amazing opportunity now to put some points between us and the bottom 3.

Fingers and everything else crossed for tomorrow!

The draw at The Hawthorns is the ideal result for us and combined with the Arsenal/Sunderland and Cardiff/Hull results means that even a loss to Spurs would leave us no worse off.To reach 34 and 32 points now Cardiff need to do better than a point a game and Fulham need to do that. The only revision I would make is that I am unsure about which way round the bottom two will be .

Wish Hughton was as good against his former clubs as lambert, could get excited for tomorrow as it's a massive opportunity for us. But as it is, I can't get excited for tomorrow, it'll probably be a reasonable performance just missing out on getting something getting beaten by 'a team with real quality' and we'll have to 'find the right balances for future'. Wish we'd go out and just take it to a team who've spent last 48 hours travelling and give it a go. Could change our season

Let's get this in perspective. We now have the bottom two teams five and six points adrift in the points/games played relationship. Yesterday the seven teams that are currently 14-20 took two points, which with the games played was the minimum possible.

I think with Sunderland conceding four and having the cup final next weekend they are currently in the worst position.Don't forget their game in hand is away to Citeh. If we were to get anything today, even a 0-0,then that would be a good result.(Albeit maybe one we won't enjoy watching.

There was a time when I would have had sympathy for PL, but after his "Wes-gate" **** stirring, I hope nothing but bad luck for him!

Our odds for the drop have now moved out to 7/2 as sixth favourites.Cardiff now 1/3 on.

Sixth, that seems somewhat generous, despite today's result. I'd probably still have had us at 4th or 5th. Presumably it's simply the 6 teams currently below us, minus Stoke?

Interestingly Sunderland are not playing in the league for the next 2 weeks because of the league cup final and fa cup. Also WBA not playing next weekend
    Fixture pile up maybe?

That could make thing interesting, be good to take advantage and pull out a bit of a gap, always better to have points on the board than games in hand

That'd certainly be nice. Hopefully we can get the points on the board and leave them with quite the mountain to climb to get ahead of us.

I don't want to go on about this ad nauseum but the bottom has a tendency to rise very slowly.Whilst individual teams can easily put on a spurt (West Ham,although if you worry about our run in take a look at their last seven)the tendency is for the bottom to rise very slowly.

If you glance at the table the current bottom nine all lost apart from WBA and Fulham who drew with each other, and us who won.So the teams between them took five points.Sunderland in 18th are two points behind on the games/points index, but their game in hand is at Citeh.

My view of the side in 18th place having 36 points is firming. We need two wins and three draws or three wins and eight defeats to reach 37.

On the other side Cardiff need five wins from eleven (currently five from 27) Fulham need five plus a draw and West Brom need four (currently four from 27)

The win against Spurs should ease the pressure on City players when they play Villa. A draw would be good but a win would be wonderful.
