Plus the obvious choices from our history.

For Town probably MR Matthew Holland.
Superb attitude, superb workrate, superb captain and seemed to be a decent bloke as well.

    Zidane
    Bergkamp
Di Canio (one of the best performances I've seen at PR)
    Stam
    Schmeical
    Pires
    Henry
    Zanetti
    Totti

Perhaps some abit outside of the box:
    Woodgate (strange one i know)
    G Neville
    E Gudjohnsson
    Southgate
    Fowler
Bullard (although my view has dimmed recently)
    Riquelme

Currently I really rate Negredo and Kompany

In terms of Ipswich probs my fav of all time (only followed since early 90s) was Magilton, good footballer, had talent, wore his heart on his sleeve, never shied away from the ball even if he was having a bad game and was also very entertaining. I also really liked Alun Armstrong, his career seemed to mimic our fortunes and also Pablo (although I found love with him later than most, it was only in his second spell i truely appreciated him). John McGreal was a top CB but again i didn't appreciate his quality until toward the end. I also liked Venus, i liked how he played the game not always the best defensively but had a great left foot and seemed to have abit of cheek about him

    Zidane. Hmm.

I preferred Materazzi's world cup winning performance.

    Forza Azzuri!!!

Best player i have seen is Cruyff, best players still playing have to be Messi and Robben, yes you may think Robben is a prick but he tears defences to shreads, Arsenal was a prime example, if only he wasnt soooo left footed!!!
Ipswich player has to be 'the beat' maybe not technically but pure force, desire etc..........

Marco van Basten was better than Cruyff. (as we're on the subject of the Dutch magicians)

Is this the same Cruyff that Roger Osborne had in his pocket all game when he played at Portman Road... <laugh> The poor boy never got a kick against our Roger that night and made him look rather ordinary! <ok>
