Surely the fact that the local derby matches are mid-week, helps both our fans and theirs get to matches after work?

    Christmas is another story.....

April is London month (which made me see that there are a hell of a lot of southern-based teams in the Championship next season).

Wigan have an interesting start to the season:

    Norwich home
    Swansea away
    QPR home

That could go one of two ways...

So happy that as per my request, we are away to Reading for my birthday weekend 21st January, just like the season just gone.

Reading being where I live...which is why that is appealing.

Totally made my day, I am over the moon :-D

I'm pissed off that the Leeds games are on a Tuesday evening again. Wanted to go to do Leeds home and away with a Leeds supporting colleague of mine. We were going to do it last season. But, as we both work Tuesdays - it's off again for this year.

Tell me about it, my girlfriend lives in London and I'd marked Millwall, Palace, West Ham, and Watford as games I could easily do from a London base when I'm down there seeing her, and they end up being four of our last five away games. Some rapid rethinking of those plans, now how easily can I do Brighton from London without a car?

It used to be by the following Monday, but I remember it took ages last year because I was waiting to book all the train tickets.

You're not thinking ahead. When it comes to your 25th wedding anniversary and we've got Leeds at home it's only going to upset the Mrs and you can do without some menopausal woman getting upset because she doesn't understand that she's just not that important.

Victoria to Brighton is a major train route, lots of people in London have second homes there, they run all the time, it takes an hour and if you book in advance it's only about £15.

Very doable if it's an hour. I was more worried about the getting from the ground to the train, but I've just checked and Falmer has a station. You would expect on a matchday that there'll be plenty of trains running between there and Brighton. Bonus is that's at the start of my half term as well. Just got to convince her that me getting back to London at about half six is a good thing.

Southern trains usually do loads of deals as well if you book early. Cost £5 return to Portsmouth last year.

It's a fair way from Brighton to Falmer though. You'll either need to get a local train back out, I'm sure they'll have a bus route sorted by then, or chip in with some fellow train Tigers for a taxi.

Think I'll go with local trains, I've seen what it's like trying to get out of football ground car parks before. Just been on the East Coast website. Tomorrow I could do London to Falmer return for £15.10, I know I'll get it cheaper booking further in advance. The trains are every 15 minutes and take 1hr19m so long as I make it to Falmer station for the 20 past train. Given I can get from the KC to station for the quarter past train it shouldn't be too hard looking at it on Google Earth.

There's Blackpool away the following weekend, tempted to have a weekend there with the lads to celebrate (and get trashed).
