Chelsea v Everton in the early kick off.

Can't see Everton beating them at home. A draw would be a good result and possibly allow us to close the gap to Chelsea to 2 points!

So Gary Neville is praising Moyes for the part he played in keeping Rooney. Also saying that to get a player who can score the amount if goals Rooney has will cost £50m-£60m.

Rooney has 8 goals this year. Let's see who has more or as many goals as him and their cost.
    Suarez £20m, Sturridge £14m, Giroud £10m, Remy £8m, Rodriguez £8m, Lambert £2m, Bony £12m.

So doesn't look like you do need to spend £60m to get the goals that Rooney has this year.

  3. You have to remember the teams they are playing in. All the others get more chances <whistle>

Its pure desperation by them and will have a destructive knock on effect, RvP and Mata will want the same and because its public knowledge every high profile player the want will also want a Rooneyesque contract.

Moyesey is looking increasingly manic as the weeks go on so it's probably just an insane rictus he wears all the time now.

I don't know who the other mush is. Is it Woodward? If so, he's not got much to smile about.

Traore injured in the warm up for Everton and is replaced by Naismith.

  15. I'd take a Chelsea win today. Everton losing would leave them eight points behind (assuming they win their game in-hand) which would put them out of the race (assuming we win)

I'm hoping for a draw or Everton win. If we win Everton don't matter. If we drop points Spurs are there too so Everton don't matter.

Rooneys contrat is reportedly more than both Ronaldo and Messi get paid. I just don't understand how he has convinced Utd to give him that contract... Yes he is good, yes he has carried them at times this season and yes when he is in top form he can be a 20-30 goal a season striker, you can even factor in his ability to play in several positions - but to be paid more than the best players in the world? wtf...

Surely they must be making a fortune out of his image, shirts sales and other things for this to be remotely viable?

What confuses me more is that if he didn't sign a new contract then the clubs that would be after him are unlikely to pay him a contract that high...

  18. Can't say I believe that. We've only got media reports to go by too.

I think it's partly a statement of "even though we have David Moyes as manager, we can still attract and retain top talent". If they had lost Rooney, it possibly may have made it harder to attract players in the summer, especially if they don't get top 4 as well.

At the moment they can say, come play with Rooney, Mata, RVP where as knock one of them off that list and you only have 2 top players

    Man Utd are #desperate

If they had a good manager and had a couple of early signings in the Summer window they wouldn't have bought Fellaini.

If they had a good start to the season they wouldn't have bought yet another number 10 in Mata and would have told Rooney his current contract is the best he's getting. Now he's set be be a ****ing ambassador for the club when he's too fat to sit on the bench <laugh>

Moyes has cost Man Utd £130m in players signed for PR and £30m in CL money, in addition to the £250m wiped off their share price

    <yikes>
