Don't get me wrong, Enrique would be my number 1. I think he is a very good full back and is sometimes underrated by our own fans. When I said Johnson's skill set is superior to our other defenders, I was referring to those that are currently fit (Flanagan, Kelly, Cissokho) as Enrique looks like he's going to be out for the season.

If, and it's a big if, Johnson starts putting in the effort then him at LB and Flanagan at RB would be my preferred option

 

Think its fairly obvious I'd go Flano and Enrique

But yeah, if Glen sorted his **** and played like we know he can then he'd have to play. It would be good to be able to rotate the three of them, especially with Flano and Johnno being able to play on either side.

 

FFS, so would I but Enrique is out injured for the rest of the season so isn't an option

 

So is Johnson

 

Enrique is a beast. He needs to come back and cement his number 1 spot. Johnson can **** off and Flanno should be our first choice RB.

I do believe that the style we play we need a RB to get forward more than Flanno. Saying that Flanno is bound to be training and learning that part of the game, so the romantic in me really wants Flanno to be a lifelong Liverpool player, not sure I can see it happening.

Either way with Flanno we would have a very decent back up for both flanks.


I have a strange suspicion (not sure why!) that BR will buy a powerhouse of a midfielder and possibly get Henderson to work at RB during training to possibly make that his future position. Probably completely wrong, but just have a niggling feeling.

Cissokho has looked slightly better than **** recently, a slight improvement so now he's just poo.

Don't agree about the part of Flanagan being first choice RB. For the rest of the season yes, but certainly not long term. I like him, don't get me wrong, but we need better quality especially going forward and then have Flanagan challenging for that place.

Funny you mention about Henderson going to RB as I actually think Sterling could be an option there. Mentioned it a few times before as well when he's dropped back there and looked pretty good. If you take Henderson out of the middle you lose a lot of the energy that only he can provide in the team at the moment.

See, I think Flanagan can be our new Finnan / Arbeloa; reliable and consistent but not flash. A 6-8 our of ten every week.

Fair enough, but that's why been saying if he starts putting effort in for the rest of the season then happy to have him at LB ahead of Cissokho.

Also a note on that article that Sakho is maybe 1 or 2 weeks ago. Sooner he comes back the better

 

We need him back ASAP - he will be our number 1 CB, we just have to work out his best partner. Probably Skrtel at this time to be honest.
