We play football the way West Ham like to remember they did. A long, long time ago. The trouble is they think they invented it, and are entitled to it. It's tricky for them to speak objectively when they must be terribly defensive and embarrassed by the reality these days.
I think since the Tevez affair (club found guilty of cheating) and then ownership by the porn barons WH fans have struggled with an enormous chip on shoulder. They miss the high moral ground of being football purists and "the good guys". I really need a win today chaps, still hurting from last Sat.
I have the feeling we will lose without any assistance from him. Cannot deny I'm not confident today.
Nah, we're due a result against this lot. And being at home they'll have to giv us a bit of room to play in. 3-1 saints.
I'm just gonna put this out there: maybe no one is "due a result" against anyone ever. (Nigerian league being a possible exception)
As you say, the past may hint at possibilities, but has no actual effect on results....but, hell, the football gods owe us one.
I think Clattenberk will try and ref the game properly today ,as he will be under the media microscope looking for anything they can between him and Adam to happen, so that they can make a big deal out of nothing and try and sell papers. And no doubt Mark will want to come out of this game with nothing for either team to complain about. Been thinking draw all week....but today I am feeling stoked/pumped/stonked and think we will sneak it 2-1.
The past will hopefully have an effect in that the players will want to make amends for their performance against Sunderland. 1-3 sounds good to me.
More informed comment from Georgie Bingham on Talksports Breakfast Show... "I'm going for a straight forward win for West Ham, 2-0 as the Southampton have fallen away badly and can't see them getting anything". Obviously hasn't noticed we are unbeaten in the league since Near Years Day and going for our three away victory in a row! Nice to hear well researched presenters at work
surely not. He's fully trained isn't he? Can't possibly be someone out there in a job where the performance varies from day to day.............
Think I had all of about two hours sleep last night. After getting better all week I woke up with a stonking headache. It's cleared now, but not without my breakfast making a reappearance. Anyway, that's enough detail for here. Getting ready to leave shortly but feel sorry for whoever is next to me on the terrace. COYS!
I think we are going to get beat today. I will avoid here if that happens. We may then get beat by Liverpool....OMG. I may not come back for weeks. it will be SaintsfansmeltdownMPouttheteamareshit for a long while. Then we will win a couple more games and be back in 8th and the world will be normal again. Roll on May.
