- The players creating all the chances last night were Routledge, Hernandez and Dyer. 2 of the 3 haven't been available to Laudrup for most of the season. - The defence were superb and have stopped making **** ups (bar the FA cup game). Could this be due to the return of Vorm? It also helps to have both defensive midfielders fit at the same time (Leon and Canas) to put the work in necessary to protect the defence against high quality opposition. If you insist on comparing the 2 managers you have to compare apples with apples. We played that kind of football under Laudrup too when all of the key players were available to him. This season; Stoke second half, Southampton away, Valencia away, Last season; West Brom home, Arsenal away, QPR home etc. This Liverpool team who have been spanking everybody this year, do you remember how they did against us at the Liberty, this season...under Laudrup? Therefore, of course it is possible for us to get a good result this Sunday. What is happening this month is exactly what I and others predicted would happen under Laudrup...was always about missing some of the most important players.
So your saying that that side last night would have performed exactly the same way for laudrup.. ..Have you not been following the swans this season ???? because if you cannot see the difference between the two managers styles then your blind or dont watch them...Valencia we played against 10 men for nearly all the game.

You really are a moron aren't you. Read my post. Yes, when this side was available to Laudrup they played like that and consistently raised their game in big glamour cup ties. This side hasn't been available to Laudrup for most of this season.
Laudrup could have everyone fit and he would still lose..i know it and so do everyone else who knows anything about the swans
I did predict our performances and results would pick up dramitically once key players came back and it is so. Makes a bit more sense than super coach Garry Monk implementing the 'Swansea way' over a fortnight's coaching doesn't it. A question for you, which no doubt you won't answer, if Garry Monk goes on to manage another club do you think this club will play like we played last night within 2 weeks of his arrival? Now, who's ****ing gullible?
Arsenal, Chelsea (over 2 legs), Man Utd, Liverpool, Valencia. Just off the top of my head. You obviously haven't been paying attention.
Would you rather laudrup be the manager or monk.....Its a no brainer from me as 8 wins in 38 -39 game dont cut it for me sorry, thats relegation form...
Laudrup as manager with Monk working as a first team coach. Would have been my ideal setup. Maybe Laudrup wouldn't have accepted that, I don't know, but I wonder if the idea was ever put forward.
From what I 've head that idea was put forward and accepted by Laudrup, but he was sacked anyway: that was what HJ & ML shook hands on...
Ya but when Laudrup shakes hands , he means it . Huw , not so much . The manner in which the board sacked Laudrup , and the manner in which the club treated the 5th round of the FA Cup will have destroyed most of the positive outlook football fans , clubs and players had toward the club . Foundations have been rocked in the big picture that will show with time , really do wish I'm wrong but can' t turn my head like most and pretend all is good .
Why do we need to pretend? Performances under Monk have gone up ten fold and last night was the best performance I have seen the past 12 months, against a giant of European football.
December is where our season took a lil bad turn, at the end of November we had 15 from 12 games, not great, but with Europe it was expected, and it was not relegation form, as that was on average 47 points throughout the season. So just fine. Then we hit December, we had a dodgy result with a home draw to Hull, the rest were Man city, Norwich, Chelsea, Villa away and Everton, Newcastle at home, that is a bad run of fixtures for any team. So being honest, how many points did you see form that run of games? Me personally I would have had us down for 6 points, beat Hull, Newcastle draws Villa, Norwich, we ended up taking 6 points. So 2 points less than I would have expected, so not all bad. Then there as January, which be fair was just as bad. Man City, Spurs, Fulham at home, with Man Utd away, I would have given us 3 points, and funilly enough, we took 3 points. So of those games, how many realistically would you have expected us to take? Baring in mind the injuries we had too. And I don't want any of this "injuries is an excuse" I want your thoughts on the points we should have taken. Man City (a) Newcastle (h) Hull City (h) Norwich (a) Everton (h) Chelsea (a) Villa (a) Man City (h) Man Utd (a) Spurs (h) Fulham (h) I would have gone with 11 points. How about you? So lets not get ahead of ourselves here, we have been injury ridden for a large part of this season, yet still there were 8 teams worse off than us. Yes the commitment was not there, but to make out we were that bad is not something I can agree with. We would have survived this season under ML, and the only reason for those against ML were that we were in relegation form. Utter tripe.
Hi Dai, why is it in all your posts last year when Laudrup took over and was killing it with all his new shiny players (michu and co) that it was laudrup who took over rodgers team and laudrup had no input over the successes of the team. Now that Monk has taken over Laudrups team its all Monk's doing and nothing to do with what people have said (people returning, easier fixtures etc) and that Monk has instantly turned the team around. So how comes one rule for Laudrup and another rule for Monk?
Didn't Laudrup confirm that he rejected the idea of changing his backroom staff 3 times? There's so much 'information' been thrown about, i can't remember what is what anymore
