Thought I'd get a debate going-

My top 4 still playing -

    * Ronaldinho. Love the guy, plays with a smile on his face. Who wouldn't want his lifestyle after doing it all?
    * Quaresma. Absolute waste, but starting to do things again with Porto. Scored a beauty last night!
    * Aimar. Absolute class, love the way he moves, very much like David Silva. Makes everything so simple.
    * GIIIIIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Mr Kuqi, obviously. But I go on about him too much!

Shearer and Beardsley - the legends of Tyneside.

Juan Manuel Iturbe for Hellas Verona is one to watch for the future.

    McManaman
    Giggs
    Cantona
    Ian Wright

    Townsend

    ITFC

    Cooper
    Mills
    Beattie
    Thijssen
    Wark
    Mariner
    Stockwell
    Kiwomya
    Uhlenbeek
    Gio

(Plus Baxter and Leadbetter from record books but sadly not footage!)

In all seriousness we have had a long tradition of fantastic Dutch players with the likes of Frans, Arnie, Romeo Zondervan, Bobby Petta, Fabs and Martijn Reuser. They were all great favourites of mine in their time at the club.

When I first started going my favourite player was Colin Viljoen just because he had talent to burn and he was just a genius in Midfield. I would go as far as saying that he is probably the most talented footballer we have ever had at the club! Yes the 2 Dutchmen were superb but Viljoen for me was just a truly exceptional player. <ok>

Eric Cantona would have to be up there with the best that I've ever seen...

    A true football legend.

It's a difficult one, but as the thread is about 'favourite footballers', I think Cantona would do it for me above Best, if only for 'kung-fu' kick on the Crippled Alice fan that night!

Absolutely, players that were a joy to watch.

    Bontcho Guentchev take a bow!

Actually - watching Crawford and Phillips score for fun must have been pretty awe inspiring too!
