Runcorn eh? Made famous by a couple of pints and some thinly sliced fried spuds.

Cos it's one of the best arts colleges in Europe? Gotta be honest mate, when I got accepted to Cambridge I didn't think "f**k that, I'll be 180 miles away from my dad, better go to Manchester Met". And my dad didn't tell me not to go cos he was still working in Manchester (as I recall he couldn't wait to kick me out the door ;))

Surely even Mourinho wouldn't be selfish enough to force his daughter to choose her higher education, and entire future, purely based on his own choice of job, surely?! Well actually...come to think about it...

Thought she was 16 when Tita Mourinho enrolled in Camberwell college of arts, so she would be living with her parents rather than heading off to uni. She was born in 96 so maybe heading to uni in September 2014

Which indicates she was doing the foundation course, which is free to EU students and designed to lead onto a full degree at UAL. If it was some random secondary school then you may have a point, but it's one of the best arts schools in Europe, so perfectly worth the relocation on its own. It's about as big an indication of his future intentions as when he enrolled his kids in Italian schools in Milan in 2011.

Heck, if his daughter was willing to live about 800 miles away from her dad whilst completing the first year of the course whilst he was in Madrid, why would she not be willing to live 200 miles away from him whilst completing the second year?!?

Also, if Maureen was so sure he'd be back in London, why didn't he buy a house for his wife and daughter to live in, instead of forcing them to spend eight months in a hotel, resulting in them being robbed of around £100k in jewellery? For a man who says family is all important, that's pretty implausibly callous if he'd already decided to move to London. Particularly given he apparently owned a house in London at the time - why not let them use that house if it was supposed to be a permanent move?!

    I wasn't knocking the Met...well ok, maybe I was just a little bit... :)

All idle specuLation, Swarbs. Who knows why he did let them live in his house... Maybe he had tenants who were mid-contract and could not evict them mid tenancy.

I know you lived in Russia and have a Russian wife but tenants have rights here in England

True, but no less idle than Purley's speculation that Mourinho forced his daughter to enrol in a world class British university and live in a hotel with his wife for eight months purely to serve his own selfish desire to return to Chelsea at all costs.

But hey, if we're idly speculating, maybe it was his cruel treatment and neglect of his family that actually caused him to burst into tears when he heard United had chosen Moyes to replace SAF?

Back on topic - the bottom line is that if we were any other club, if we were seven league positions down on last season we would have sacked Moyes by now. On the basis of performance and likelyhood of improvement - did the club make the right choice.....NO. End of.

You mean like Liverpool sacked Benitez in 2010? What an outstanding long term move for the club that turned out to be...
