A solitary tweet from him @tonyfernandes: It's a big few weeks for QPR. Time for Harry and the boys to stand up and be counted. As owners we have done all that was asked. I would hope this sort of thing is actually said in private. Too many unanswered questions by doing this! Is it a throw away comment, an air of frustration, just for the fans, has he told HR etc, is there something else going on??!
If I were a manager and read that from my chairman, I would be worried. Very bold statement to make it public!
I've got a bad feeling about this. It's a divisive statement. I hope it galvanises the team. Belief is everything. And if I was a player, being watched over by the owners, I'd have less faith that they believed in me. The mindset should be that the players know that the owners, the supporters and everyone else connected with the club wants them to be their best for the club to succeed. This distances the efforts of the owners with the team and inadvertently creates a blame culture.
Expect Harold to start making excuses There aren't any His regime at QPR should be judged at the end of the season I fully expect us to be promoted automatically and be crowned champions
What else can be said "Don't worry lads, I'm sure it'll be OK" No ...from here on in...ever game is a must win. TF knows it, Arry knows it, players know it, we know it.....however ...it is still very much in our own hands,,,that is what TF is saying...rightly But if Arry screws it up from being, 1st or 2nd and well away from the chasing pack for the start of the season...obviously heads will roll. We all know that
Well, apart from season ending injuries to Charlie, Danny, Matty, Ale. But yes no Manager, wants to make excuses, and the objective was to get promoted. But the odds of immediate return, are not surprisingly, very low. Harry and the players know what is expected, and the cost of failure.
I'm reading this as a 'when the going gets tough, the tough get going' type rallying cry. Too optimistic??
If he had said 'time for us to stand up and be counted' I wouldn't have read anything into it. The fact that he specifically mentioned Harry gives pause for thought.
I think its a clear message to Management and fans. To us-We've done everything Harry has asked. To Harry etc-Stop the rot. A very merry friday to you all.
I said I wws told everything was not right behind the scenes a couple of days ago. Now my gut feeling of weeks ago has been backed up by that and now this, Id be very, very surprised if Redknapp is here next season no matter what.
What I find rather disconcerting is that Harry's teams have historically finished the season weakly. Let's hope that this one's the exception.
It seems to me the statement is aimed more at Redknapp than the players. We are going backwards, and, unless something changes quickly, the play-offs are our best hope. If we were to lose on Saturday, it would not shock me to see Redknapp sacked.
