Wasn't the precedent set regarding name changes to incorporate sponsors when Coventry were refused permission to change their name to Coventry Talbot in 1983?
I stand corrected. And rightly so. Though I do remember that argument he had on live TV with that pro-gun bloke shortly after the Sandy Hook massacre and wondering which one is actually the bigger twat...
Meant to say Hull and East Riding. More people have Hull City as their nearest league club than Norwich.
i take it all with a pinch of salt and don't really listen to his comments any more and i think his way of leaving the club will be to hand over the reigns to his son. Ive not even read the Hull daily mail yet so don't really know his reason for the price rise but if there was a genuine one then i would be more prepared to listen however as a business man like he is i am sure he realises that a 50% rise would lose him a lot of very genuine loyal fans and income for our club. On the other side of the argument if he explained why having the Tiger in our name would really benefit us then again i am sure more fans would at least listen how ever threats or insults just widen the gap
The % rise is a symbolic one. What he's basically doing is blackmailing the weak appeasers who are neutral or even pro name change with a 'Do as I say or the prices go up massively'. Foolish move by an egocentic cantankerous thin-skinned old man who moves the goalposts on an almost monthly basis. He is destroying his own legacy with his spoilt brat spat with Terry Geriatric.
Well as he says he will walk away within 24 hours doesn't matter does it as he will not be there to instigate it.
No matter who the owner is or the sponsor is, it's us the fans who own this great Club. Ok, not financially, but with our hearts. We'll always be here behind the Club whatever League we're in. I think he's reached a point of no return now and should find a buyer and cut his losses. He's no good for our great Club.
You can't believe a word he says anyway, it was only last month he said that if the FA rejected the name change he would walk away from the club. So it would appear that has now changed like a lot of other things he has said. He put up the price of my pass by nearly 100% for this season so another 50% on top is not acceptable for me and I (and my missus) would definitely not renew
Every time he does another stupid thing I just like our owner less and less Initially I was just against the name change This has got to go down as a textbook case in how not to treat the fans of your own club ( as if they are all idiots )
he said he would walk away "if the majority of fans wanted him to" .. nothing to do with the name proposal ... but don't let facts get in the way now theres a good boy
Would that fact in the way be the one where he said he'd walk away if the FA rejected the name change proposal?
He said something along the lines of that there is no two ways about it, he'd walk if the FA reject his name change proposal & that he's never gone back on his word. http://www1.skysports.com/football/...ll-go-if-fa-dont-back-hull-tigers-name-change Sorry, but a per usual, you're wrong.
well he was reported as such here.... http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jan/14/hull-city-owner-allam-quit-tigers
