Agreed. Just as long as the idiots realise that too, but then I'm figuring that's too much to ask to be honest.
Big Vic did the player press conference, that's all online tomorrow... please log in to view this image
Absolutely. But if people start saying "Oh Gaston is ****, what a waste of money" after a first game back from injury, it gets irritating. To be honest, he and big Vic are clearly a pair that need runs of games. Let's hope there's some patience shown. After all, the greatest critics tend to be those that think the season ended when we lost on Saturday. In which case, they can allow us as much experimental meddling as possible - after all, it doesn't matter now, right?
Who has ever said Wanyama is ****? I can't see one single post saying that to be honest. People just pointed out that he's been out of form recently... Which he has...
There are plenty of people who don't think he's all that on this board. My comment was directed generally at Saints fans (see Facebook for details) rather than just this board though. However, directly answering your question, I'm not claiming that people say Wanyama is ****, but Gaston.......if you....y'know....read what I actually wrote.
No problem with that as long as it is factual and not abusive! In some players cases it could get a bit repetitive and annoying, it is not as if we are all a bit obtuse and cannot spot the obvious and have to have it pointed out to us with regular monotony. Of course some times we have the temerity to disagree and OK, then that should be disagreed with, using tact and respect for a different opinion, not with the use of four letter obscenities.
Very honest assessment from Wanyama in his press conference appearance: "It has been a really tough time for me because Iâve been out for a long time and to be honest, Iâm behind."
It's odd isn't it - he has aways come across as one of the nicest, gentlest, most honest people I've heard in this odd profession so proliferated by ego and idiocy - for that reason he should be a fan favourite. But instead he's the scapegoat for many. Discuss.
He has struggled for form and fitness a bit and I don't think it helps that the mistakes he does make often look very elementary. For some reason people always seem to need someone to barrack, and though I hesitate to mention it, I can't help but notice that the non-white players get judged much more severely by our fans. I'll never understand it myself, and it's clearly not helpful. Obviously you can't help groaning or cursing when a player makes a bad mistake but the people who regularly boo and berate our own players need to have a look at themselves.
Good point I've always thought this. If you sit in northam you will notice it more, along with the abuse you will occasionally hear references to a players race. Makes me feel very uncomfortable.
