Wonder what will happen with it not being a football matter but a Legal one?

Considering how much more they paid to his agent/father than the selling club I'd think it could easily be made into a football matter.

Be interesting to see whats done either way.

Heard a few weeks ago they were facing a possible la liga points deduction and a european ban.

    Mine was first! :D

Hefty fine from the taxman. Doubt they'd do anything more than that - tho' Roselli could get some jail time if he was shown to have fraudulent intent.

Probably won't affect the footballing side of things at all imo - Spain won't want to risk FIFA going all FC Sion on them if they tried to impose a footballing penalty for a legal matter.

    Fair point Swarbs.

What about ffp? Fiddling accounts in order to show less spent might be of interest to uefa.

That would make two then seeing as city have already failed ffp by trillions.

Spurs and Everton will be chuffed then :bandit:

That would only be the case if they have actually fiddled the accounts as a whole. More likely, they will have tried to write off some of the cost of acquiring Neymar as a different type of cost, which would be exempt from tax.

Either way, they will capitalise his fee over five years in their accounts, so they won't actually record any 'loss' from buying him until this summer. So no FFP rules will be broken unless they actually make a loss as a result of any fine.

    Ah nice one Swarbs.

Seems like Barcelona as a club at worst will face a fine then and the individuals involved in the deal face potential prison time.

Only joe bloggs goes to jail over tax fraud even if they pay the government back. The wealthy and connected just pay it back and no prison time
