I would have guessed Sherwood plans to play Eiriksen against Norwich. While leaving many of our key players at home was a good move, I would have left Jan, Rose and Paulinho at home as well. Getting any of them hurt would be an avoidable disaster. Besides, if we can't win without them against Dnipro, we don't deserve to go on.

I know a lot of you think it would be better if we didn't have all the extra games from the EL in the run in to the top 4. That argument is very persuasive, but there is also a certain kudos to the possibility of soon describing Spurs as the last British club left in Europe... and also the chance we have of actually winning this trophy!

I suppose there is always a chance of winning the Cup, Fulham made it to the final. Two of the luckiest teams in CL history (Chelsea and Liverpool) won the champions league, but as soon as we face a good passing team, I'll be expecting us to get knocked out, even with a strong team.

Under Sherwood, we're more geared up for premier league football so he's doing the right thing by resting players.

This will be one of those ugly matches...not expecting anything impressive to be honest

Is this the night where everyone points out there are more important things then football and we shouldn't be playing the match.

Harry Hughes: (external) Ridiculous that the Spurs game is going ahead. Some things are far more important than football

Life as a Spurs fan. We play a game that should have been called off by any standard. I watch not caring a great deal how we do, just hoping nobody gets hurt, especially Rose.

Bad decision playing Rose as we have no viable backup. Sherwood got that wrong!

The thought of winning a trophy for the first time in 6 years is very nice.
However, I don't see us making the top 4 if we continue to the latter knockout stages. - I hope I'm wrong.

Lots of late, niggly fouls and the officials aren't giving anything.

Should be behind. Awful defending. Well done Friedel. <ok>

It's a good job these Dnipro players have never been told to aim for the corners of the goal!

    Chadli should score that.

If Chadli used his regular gel, he would have scored there.

  19. On the basis of the first 30 minutes I don't think we need worry about the 'latter stages' of this competition....
Defence getting torn a new one and we are only still in it cos of Brad.
Rose and Naughton having poor games so far and their midfield looks to be a few yards faster.
Pitch is poor but same for both teams.
