Of course a long way off but easy to see through my eyes he is key to Harold's side and the way he sets up. He is idea for this campaign to plug the holes. I am certain that many think this role is just to sit both of us know it isn't. Henry is no playmaker and spends most of his time reading the game or ball watching to some.... but he certainly has a good discipline about him ... he commands a steady movement as under Harold he likes to build up play from the back and be totally confident on the ball. yes we move it from side to side maybe too much when Henry plays but we the bloody ball. Massive gaps when he is not present as Carroll is growing into that position. Leon Britton used to do a great job for the swans ... Henry not good enough by a mlle to pass but he does the other side very well... he sniffs it out and is very aggressive which this league you have to be. Very pleased when he got his goal and if we stuck with him until the rest of the season ... i can see a few more goals as he prowls around there. Our defence isn't exposed and a calm descends which I could see early on ... from a calm foundation comes cleaner football and gaps appear in the opposition.

Barton far too hectic IMO but of course can never be accused of not putting the effort ... trouble is that's his own game.

I would like to see him start and I am betting we enjoy better play all round.

So many of our recent games we are knocking on a solid door and leaving massive gaps and are getting punished.

    Hail King Henry IMO

Question here is would Harold be able do any of the jobs you mention. The 1% I agree behind the scenes is exactly what Harold knows also if you listen to his press releases. If we believe him he knows nothing about anything

Oh dear. Harold does not need to be able to do any of those jobs to be good (or bad) at his own. Totally irrelevant.

Well Redknapp is not a great man manager or motivator, have you watched us at all this season?

He has also admitted tactics aren't important and that football is just about putting better players out there.
With that in mind, there are posters who know more tactically than he does because most of us know tactics are very important and are often the difference between winning and losing.

Tell you what, if it means a settled team with an understood shape with and without the ball, I'd be happy for him to start every game as well. Such a shame we can't have Faurlin back.

Having had the pleasure of watching Gary Waddock perform this role thirty years ago with the ability to tackle, intercept, pass & entertain I can't believe that we should be relying on a journeyman like Karl Henry.

    How we must have fallen!

Everyone in the sport for the past 30 years have said Harry's a good man manager and motivator. It's a regular theme brought up by players who've been managed by him. Are they lying?
I think in general there's been good effort this season(particularly in comparison to the previous 2). Just often we've not been good enough.

Most of us are better at man management & motivation when we are younger in our years.

Have those players been lying? I wouldn't know but I have heard Harry on many an occasion say something that is totally opposite to what he has previously said. Is that lying or admitting to having been mistaken in the past?

I understand where you're coming from, but there are quite a few on here, like myself, who have played the game at a pretty decent level. This does mean that we may know what we're talking about. It doesn't mean we're right of course and everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Thing is, whilst Stan and Paul have been discussing how Henry gives us a platform to play, we must remember that Harry hasn't picked him much lately.

I don't give a **** what they say, look at our first performances where we sleepwalk from start to finish.

Are you seriously telling me we've played highly motivated this season.

Hughes got teams into Europe. Does that make him a good manager.

I don't give a **** what anyone does for other clubs. I only care what they do for us and redknapp has been worse than Hughes.

The games are as bad as under Hughes but we've faced far, far weaker opposition. Even so, we've still been outplayed by the likes of Donny and yeovil.

don't dispute the donny and yeovil games but i don't agree we've been as bad under HR overall. The last two games we've been shocking and our football certainly hasn't been pretty but in between those extremes we've been tough to beat and ground out some results on the way. Ergo..fourth spot in the league. For my money Hughes, with a better squad on paper, rarely looked like drawing matches let alone winning them. Save for the odd patch, and an uncharacteristic half against Spurs when we were amazing, it was a shambles. Nobody looked interested (apart from the old guard and Nelsen) and he split the dressing room in two with most of his signings. Yes we were playing better teams but we had better players (allegedly).

I'll admit though i thought HR would do much better in his time with us in the Prem. I'll put that down to Hughes amassing such a disjointed bunch of disinterested misfits though that even pep guardiola would have struggled.
