. Yes yes they would.............. Selling the KC doesnt/wouldnt get through a referendum FFS. The Fair will not move and thats it.
I don't think season tickets are going up by 50%. I think the sponsorship deals were in place long before he put in the application and are not dependent upon the name change. I think the council did enough to secure a deal on developing the KC and Walton Street. It takes two to tango but Assem Allam wanted the freehold and nothing but the freehold. He could have bought the freehold but didn't make an offer. Who builds an extension on a council house? Shiek Mansour does. If Assem Allam wants to do a deal on developing the KC and the surrounding area all he has to do is pick up the phone and talk to the council. We have an owner and a council that want a successful Premier League team and to develop the area around the KC and yet they don't talk to each other. That isn't funny that is a tradegy.
It's hilarious how not 18 months ago the council were viewed by all here as a bunch of rugby loving dinosaurs holding the club and the city back. Now Dr. Allam wants to change the name of the club the council are suddenly angels and Dr. Allam the antichrist who is at fault for all. The council are ****s, a joint venture would also be pointless.
The metro area of Norwich (travel to work area) must be about the same as Hull but there isn't another big sporting club whereas in Hull there's two rugby league clubs. Norwich is a richer area than Hull. I'm amazed that the ticket prices at City are so low. The top prices should be increased but the majority shouldn't be increased. We should be improving revenue in other ways than ticket prices but not by changing the name.
I think it's more a case of us not having seen his true colours 18-months ago. Most of us can now fully understand why the council didn't cave in to this delusional old ****witt.
Utter bollocks. I knew the Man City **** would come out, I'll leave it to David conn to explain "English football has been warned it has allowed one of its major clubs to be exploited as a "branding vehicle" by an international regime accused of human rights abuses after a trial in Abu Dhabi, a country ruled by Manchester City's owner and his brothers, was widely denounced as repressive, involving torture, and "fundamentally unfair". http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/jul/30/manchester-city-human-rights-accusations There is no comparison with Man City. No one can compete with them.
They don't have to sell the KC, so no referendum. The fair will move if the council decide its in their interests to move it. Faced with a choice of a multi-million development of the area and keeping the fair in its current location, the fair will lose.
. While i post links to councillors saying the Fair will not move. You provide nothing to back it up. Therefore bollocks. You seem as though you work at council, pretty high up?? Well heres an idea advise Brady to do a full page spread in the HDM we are open for business Mr Allam the Fair will be moved etc etc we desperately want investment/development in the area!! Nah wont happen.
Not me. At the time when everyone slated the council for not giving the stadium to Allam, I was on this very board saying that in the future we will look back on this day and be thankful for their foresight.
I thought a lot of people thought it wasn't a good idea to hand over the stadium. I think it makes sense to increase the stadium capacity to 34,000 because that can be done quite easily. The council could pay for that and get extra revenue for gates over 25k and have a joint venture for other money making schemes.
You're right it won't happen on the front page of the HDM. More likely it will be done by intermediaries initially.
Found this from the HDM . http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Coun...ium-comments/story-13461697-detail/story.html
I am anti-name-change and I am certainly no admirer of the business style of Assem Allam, but you are right, the Sheikh Mansour comparison is not a good one and will only detract from the discussion over our name-change. There would have to be an extraordinary agreement of altruism or mutual benefit to make funding the improvement of a leased property a sane financial judgment. There is no need for any desperation (apparent or otherwise) in the argument against AA; he tells us to look at his CV and trust his commercial acumen, so we should trust that the extension and name-change were never critical to his strategy when he bought the club, as they were never within his sphere of control - unless, of course, he was not as commercially astute as he believed himself to be and he made a hugely arrogant mistake in prejudging the situation and the people involved, HCC and the club supporters. Perhaps this adversity, brought on by his own arrogance and error, is why his dark side of lies, deceit, manipulation and blackmail have come to the fore, causing many to become alienated from his so-called benevolence. We can only hope that the future holds a reversal of the Needler father - son scenario. I tried to keep that brief(ish), Chazz
soooooooo what are the "Tiger " brands out there ? I can only think of three 1. the beer company in Singapore 2. The old hand held console manufacture and they made electronic kids toys (may well be defunct) 3. makers of flasks and kettles - like morphy richards

Tigerair based in Singapore would be a possibility, although I can't see why any of these companies would insist on a name change when we are already "The Tigers" with a tiger badge.
