The UCAS website is horrible. When writing your personal statement, you have a character limit, which is fair enough but you also have a line limit (wtf) based on a box that's about 200 pixels or so across and even though I'm over 150 characters under the limit, I'm 5 lines over. How ****ing stupid.

I think we can see why the protesters want to be aligned with Europe rather than Russia. I think they feel their independence is being taken from them just as they began to get used to it.

Oh politicians, when will they finally realise that they serve the people, rather than the other way round.

Damn right. Annoyingly it seems Southampton are full (and they were my first choice!) as is Warwick, so now my third choice uni is between Exeter, St Mary's and Brighton (although I've already put down Sussex), also possibly Bristol. I've been to Exeter and it was nice but it is way off the beaten track.... Help!

On your recommendation I have done the same but a bit of listening will be needed before I can comment.

Umm doesn't excuse cops killing protesters. Not all of the protesters got violent yet all are treated the same.

The lines on a word document are different to UCAS'. I had to cut down mine loads, but I don't really see the huge importance of them because as long as you have good grammar and say some good things about yourself, it's fine. A-Level grades are the important things.

Some of the violence on the side of the protesters would be considered a serious threat to the lives of the police officers, so in those instances they do have a right to kill those protesters. Obviously it's pretty doubtful that the cops are using any sort of restraint at this point, but if you feel your life is in danger you are going to respond in kind. I'm sure innocent people will be killed now as the cops go berserk, but the protesters should have seen this coming.

Well, that was fairly stressful, but finally finished it! Going for Birmingham (1st choice), Brighton and Canterbury.... Though now I have to wait for my referees to provide their references which will no doubt stress me out somewhat.

My referee/tutor wrote on my reference that I was "well round" instead of "well rounded", I hope he changed it! <laugh>

    Well, that was weird.

I was emailed a few weeks ago by The FA and my referee co-ordinator that there would be a survey sent around to ALL referees and coaches to fill in on standards and procedures in order to improve co-ordination and the system currently in operation.

Today, the survey lands in my inbox with a little email. I go to start the survey. I'm told it will take me approximately 20 minutes, again that's no issue and I click start. First Q: "Do you or any family members do any work in any of the following areas?" - One option was journalism. As someone who is paid for what I write, I obviously ticked this box and then prepared for the next part of the survey.

Except, the rest of the survey never happened. I received a message along the lines of...

"Thank you. Unfortunately you are not permitted to continue and answer the rest of the survey."

So because I do some freelance work here and there, I can't answer on or be part of the nationwide survey of refereeing standards within refereeing circles?

Totally crackers and I am now quite bemused.

A cleaner in Italy threw away a work of 'art' valued at 10K but consisting of bits of newspaper, cardboard and biscuit crumbs. She could plead that her actions were performance art, surely :)

Referees can never be seen to be wrong and except for Clottenburk are not allowed to express any opinions, that's the way it is.

The Ukraine footage of snipers gunning down protestors with only makeshift shields is disgusting.
