According to Hull City it was forced into making an application this year because of the application to name a local football club Hull Tigers.

Cash Convertors sponsership deal ends this season. It was rumoured, according to this board, that sponsorship deals were done last year when there was no intention to change the name this season.

A deal with Hull City Council to expand the stadium would have resulted in more executive boxes and the added income from an hotel.

Finally it looks like Assem Allam has changed his mind and won't be walking away within 24 hours of the decision.

I feel sick at what that man is doing to my club.

All the lies. He is poison and will destroy this club.

Ive said it since the day he announced the name change plan - he's the worst owner in the history of our football club. He has made me have Saturdays free from attending football matches which I thought nobody could ever achieve. I honestly think this will end with us having to reapply for our status as a football club and starting again where Wimbledon did.

At least we'll have the KC still and we can all eternally thank the council for refusing this disgusting man's demands. Next to building the KC, the best thing Hull CC ever did was refuse to give him the stadium.

It all sounds like the death rattle of a desperate man to me.

If he was confident about the name change, he could just sit back and wait for the FA verdict. If the FA have reason to go against the name change, it'll be partly due to desperate nonsense like this that shows he's not a reasonable custodian.

    Totally agree with you.

Up until now I've had the opinion that if he drops the name change I'd gladly have him continue as owner. But after today that's it. I want him out.

It'll gutting next season to think I won't be there.

Yes and thank good HCC didn't give in to Allam's demands.

Really Dutch? Sounds like it's all part of the plan to me. It's like the government forcing through an unpopular law. Drip drip drip. If Ehab has put in his presentation tiger whatever are going to sponsor us for £20million over 3 years dependent on the name change going through, making us solvent. Then it's very persuasive. Even though it maybe bolocks.

Not really, putting up the price will probably cut income, not increase it, and NO sponsor deal would rely on an unpopular name change.

Got to hand it to him, it's extremely canny what he's doing. The man is a genius, no other way to put it.

It would be if it was true, but there were rumours of a new sponsorship deal months ago when he hadn't considered putting in a name change application this season. So has he dumped that sponsor and got himself two others? Or is it the same two sponsors that existed months ago spun to suggest that they will pull out of the global exposure if we don't become Hull Tigers?

I've heard the sponsor is Vincent Tan, and he's the puppet master pulling Allams strings and forcing this through. Apparently the logo will just be a mugshot of Tan grinning and giving thumbs up with both hands, tilted about 25 degrees to the left, and whenever were spoken about or announced at a game we are to be called Tans Hull Tigers.

I cannot reveal my sauce, but its a very good one.

If we have to change our name for a company to invest, then they haven't got our interests at heart.

The onlyperson on here who has stated there's a sponsor in place is the same person who has stated Ehab doesn't want the name change. Go figure who it is

At face value a statement worth nothing at this stage. If we don't stay in the Premier League the shirt sponsorship deals on the table will walk anyway. All they are saying is that if we can't do the shirt sponsorship deal we will need to recover the lost revenue from somewhere else. A 50% increase in season ticket prices will cause I suspect some 25% approx to not renew, even if they don't, that indicates a global sponsor prepared to pay c£5m per year based on £260 x 20,000. Hardly big money by Premier League standards!

The bottom line is Allam is f**ked if we are relegated, and if we stay up then whilst I credit him for building with Brucey a team capable of competing at this level, he is managing the club along with Ehab as a business, and THAT ALONE is driving all and any decisions being made. Apart from a good interest return on his cash invested which is not at risk in reality to him whilst we are in the Prem, the Allams are seeking any and all ways which will increase the clubs revenue and asset base and in doing so create a sustainable business.

Premier League 'lost the typical average' supporter long ago......

He's not putting up the price he's threatening to if he doesn't get the name change as it's reliant on sponsors. I agree it's probably all bollocks but the FA can't call him on it. In Ehabs presentation it may have included a piece from a sponsor backing the name change.

If people actually read the article instead of just reading about it on twitter and going "**** off Assem what a joke" (Considering it wasn't even him who said it) They would notice that Ehab said “However, whilst it may provide a short-term revenue lift, we do not believe that constantly raising prices is a viable long-term option.”

    Doesn't mean he's wrong.

I may be wrong but I thought somebody else mentioned the sponsorship rumour other than OLM.
