Just seen a news item that said season ticket prices could go up 50% if he doesnt get the Hull Tigers name change , so that would be about £750 for an adult pass (not sure if this is old news , sorry if it is ..) Also said two major shirt sponsorship are in place should the name change go ahead
He likes to shoot himself in the foot a lot doesn't he? how that man made a successful business is a miracle, I bet when he talks he bangs his hand on the table, You will listen to me.
Look I get that the sheep will flock to these types of posts, and rant, and condemn, even though it could be entirely made up, but if you're going to post this type of stuff, at least provide some ketchup. Or BBQ. I don't even mind a little jaeger tbh.
This is going to backfire on him completly, any supporters he had of the name change are seeing his true colours , he is now punishing the very supporters that could of be on his side and open minded to the change I think he has to walk away now , its gone way to far now for an peaceful outcome
If changing the name is a condition of a sponsorship deal then they are sponsors we do not need. What happens when the sponsorship deal runs out & isn't renewed? We are currently Hull City AFC , The Tigers, which is by far a stronger brand than Hull Tigers. Sounds like more BS from our owners, I'd be surprised if any potential deal exists especially with a condition of changing the club's name. Let's concentrate on the crux of the matter which is simply an arrogant & hypocritical man's spat with the local authority.
Aha thanks for the link. So, if you believe an article that starts with "The HDM understands..." lets look a little closer. 1. There is clearly a plan around the name change, that will bring in more revenue, and it not just linked to a spat with HCC. Thanks for suggesting otherwise CTWD. 2. They've looked at CTWDs suggestions for increasing revenue and aren't convinced selling more pies will help. Well duh. 3. If we don't have a name change, and don't get the new revenue streams, the club still needs money from somewhere, Season Tickets are being looked at, but it's stated this isn't a great idea, which makes perfectly good sense. 4. The club is currently in good hands, being run by people who are doing everything they can to increase our income and give the club a strong and sustainable future.
Happy, if he doesn't get his name change he'll be gone in 24 hours & he has never gone back on anything he's said apparently.
All rumour right now, but if it increases 50%, no matter what your opinion, many will simply not be able to afford it. I'd be against any increase, 50% would be crazy and, unfortunately, too much for my modest Hull salary to stretch to, what with everything else in my life I have to afford. It would be a sad way to bow out.
given the choice, name change to raise more revenue or pay 50% more. I dont think the majority would be against the name change then.
Isn't it possible (likely) that a 50% increase will have a negative effect on season ticket sales? And that it could well lead to a decrease in ticket income?
Yep. And its also a convenient excuse for making unpopular decisions. Every single thing he does now that the fans dont like, he will turn around and say it's because he didnt get the name change and his hands are subsequently tied. Part of me thinks this was the plan all along and he never even intended to make the name change. It gives him the perfect get out from his claims about making it a fiver to get in or whatever it was he said. But then I remember that he really isnt clever enough to plan all this.
