It's not always necessary to try and find fault or someone to blame. And sometimes things just don't go your way. Until we went a man down we were easily as good as they where.

Wilshere has been so piss poor, he's so weak, when Ramsey's back, Wilshere shouldn't be starting at all, he shouldn't even be ahead of Rosicky.

As for Giroud, I might be going extreme here, but with the way Sanago's playing, I say let's get rid of Giroud, Sanago can be our 2nd striker, with us buying a new world class quality striker. Sanago is big, strong, hard working, and you can see much more potential in him than Giroud, I don't think Giroud's going to get any better than he is now.

Wilshere had the best pass completion rate on our team today :p

He actually looked quite lively in the firsth alf but when we were down to 10 men he never seemed to get I into the game, but to be fair we had like 12% possession in the second half.

the only thing i am questioning is the PERMANENT lack of depth to this squad .

we were moaning about it 3 years ago and we still are .

We are trying to win things on a shoestring and it is NOT going to happen .

Someone made the point about the signing of Ozil as being more of a way for Wenger to answer his critics who accuse d him of penny pinching than a serious attempt at strengthening .

im begining to see some truth in that .

Lip service to keep the critics quiet , but if he fails to win anything this season , with one less opponent , they will be louder than ever .

In the second half, I think he made only 1 successful pass, maybe 3? At 10 men he was terrible, kept giving the ball away.

He looked overwhelmed when they had the advantage in numbers.

I think we've set ourselves up with a very good core of players and begun to add the players that will take us to the next level. We are doing better this season than anyone expected us to and I think due to our new financial position we are likely to see the odd key player added in future where previously we would have had to show restraint.

Previously wen ave had depth but no quality in depth. This season we are a little light but in a position to add quality to a very good core of players.

I think he always looks/gets overwhelmed in big games against strong sides, like your City's-Munich's, he's too lightweight for these games. Ramsey on the other hand, he's a power horse, Flamini the same, and Rosicky too he has the experiance knows how to deal with it. Playing deep isn't Wilshere's best position, he's not strong enough to play there.

True. Against the smaller teams he can play deep but he gets caught out too much against the bigger sides. I don't think he'll end up as a CM for us anyway (more of a CAM IMO)

Wilshire spends most of the time on his arse .

What use is he if hes not physically strong enough .

Vierra must look at him getting pushed over every game and think ....

what the hell is he doing at Arsenal ....

its like he never got any bigger after the schoolboy level .

I think Wilshere had a decent game. Possibly our best player on the night.

Monreal, Ozil, Carzorla not soo much.

I've just got home and i'm f**king gutted. We had a **** journey home, the M6 was closed and we ended up having a mystery tour through the West Midlands <grr>
I thought the result was very disappointing, we started off very well and if the penalty had gone in things could have been so different <cry>

    My humble opinions:

Ozil will be much better when playing with a striker he has a better understanding & respect for (possibly Sanogo, that will take time, not Giroud, they don't seem to blend). He'll also be better when Theo is back making runs for him.

Wilshere is an enigma. He has been brilliant, he has been fairly woeful. For now I'd like to see Rosicky alongside Flamini in midfield in the Gerard role. He's getting older but he can defend and he can attack. He's also direct & while Ramsey is out he offers solidarity.

Podolski should start more. He is a goal threat coming in off the wing, and offers more (sometimes clumsily) defensively than Cazorla. He times his runs well & in a 433 formation you need 3 goal threats across the front. Ox, Sanogo, Pod offer this in greater abundance. I like Cazorla, but for now I'd rather see Pod starting.

Monreal doesn't seem too happy. He isn't playing well at present, but with Gibbs out he has to play himself into form. He is the weak link in an otherwise fantastic defense at present.

There is work to be done, and a top striker is crucial in summer.

Lol, what a load if nonsense about Wilshere, especially based on his performance yesterday. He was electric in that first 30 mins. He was running past the Bayern players at will and we got that pen because of him after he left one of their players for dead and played a brilliant pass to Ozil. Once we went down to 10 men, him and Flamini were f**ked. They just basically had to sit in front and not move. Playing against the likes of Kroos and Thiago with 11 is hard enough, but with 10 it's impossible. Wilshere was shaping up to have a great, because he looked like he had the burst of pace back, but the sending off, killed everything. His brief cameo of brilliance should be seen one of the main positives from last night. If he can get that burst of speed back, than there is little stopping him. The reason he gets fouled is because he is unable burst past people like he did in his first season for us. It's an essential part of his game. If Ozil scored we would have all been talking about Wilshere's brilliant play for that goal, but he missed and everyone forgets it. Football, eh. You all want Ramsey back, yeah. Well this time last year he was dog **** and no use. But guess what, he improved because he also had immense talent. Wilshere is the same. If he avoids constant injuries , he is a future Arsenal legend.

The only players that deserve stick from last night were Monreal and Ozil.

Not the best result but we can take some positives from the game. 11 v 11 saw us compete with arguably the best team on the planet and had Ozil buried it, we would have made it very interesting. However, it didn't quite happen for us and we'll have to dust ourselves off and concentrate on the league, which I feel should be our priority. Also it's heartening to see Sanogo play well, so maybe we can have a backup CF that can help our final push.

Yep was really impressed with Sanogo. That trap, quick feet and lobbed pass to Ox in the first half was pure class. He's showed some glimpes of real talent and it's good to finally have somebody who can challenge Giroud for a starting place because hopefully it will push them both.
