Just got back from the game, the red card killed us. UEFA are just so corrupt, everything is all geared towards favouring bigger teams, if this had been the other way round, the ref wouldn't have sent off their goal keeper, how many times does this happen in Europe, ref's giving red cards, killing games, and handing the advantage to the bigger team? On the game, Ozil and Wilshere were very disappointing, moreso Ozil, I mean common dude, we bought you for 42 million, you're supposed to be the step up, yet your missing penalties like that? That's just not good enough from Ozil.
He offers very little defensively, but then that's not why we bought him. But against Bayern you need players who can do a defensive job. I was pulling my hair out at times watching him tonight, but he's a quality player who should always be on the team sheet for what he offers offensively.
The rule is stupid but the ref had no choice, nothing to do with favouring big teams. I heard Ginola say this morning on talk sport that it should be changed to a yellow card in that situation and I agree with him
what like just him v just their goalie . and he failed even that . a disastrous performance form the man we hoped would , and paid our highest ever fee for , win us games. One on one , again , wussed out.
I enjoy watching us win! I am not angry we lost tonight tbh, (may be because I expected it, dunno), getting angry over a game is a waste of energy.... Like a lot of us on here acknowledged, they are a fine team. We move on, next stop Sunderland
Because everybody will always score their penalties right? Not saying he shouldn't have scored but you sound like a broken record. Out top assister. Highest assists in Europe's top 5 leagues in the past 5 years. German and Arsenal #10. Fails offensively. Ok then.
But what really has he offered offensively? He's just not cutting it, especially in the fast paced PL. I just have a feeling he won't excel as people expected.
We all know many times the last man has made the tackle, and hasn't been given a red card. Shezny is the GK, so obviously he's going to be the last man, the ref's already given the penalty, if he wants to take it further, give a yellow, but sending him off is just bullshit, I guarantee if roles were reversed, the ref would never send their GK off.
He's our highest assist maker, including the 2nd highest assist maker in the league, so offensively he has been doing good for his first season.
I've got my doubts about Ozil but i'm waiting to see him next season before I make any sweeping comments about waste of money
lol dont you people learn . He was at Real , not Arsenal , there assists mean GOALS . at Arsenal they mean goal chances given to Giroud. Give him time , he will be the next big thing that failed to fulfill his potential at Arsenal . Watch this space. Arshavin , Vela , Chamakh , Ozil .......
He has 8 assists in the PL. Third place Gerrard is joint top and he's a DM. Ozil recently looks sluggish and unfit, not suited for PL football imo. He gets tackled and just stands about watching??? Odd.
Gerard recently overtook him as ozil had a string of quiet games with no assists, a better finisher would help with that, he isn't passing to Suarez etc... He has also been good in our last couple of games against utd and you lot. It's no coincidence that his poor form coincided with us having no players fit who make runs beyond the striker. No suprise that giroud has looked quiet as well because of this tbh.
He wasn't at real for that whole time. Also arshavin was a boss for us, even when he wasn't on form he always made goals or scored them. He has amazing stats during his time with us.
