If you use Twitter try and have a word with I Sit Next To A Badger-Leazes Corner and he'll probably be able to help you out.

I'm on a 10 year deal and I was always under the impression it was a Feb date.
I think a lot of lads have just cancelled the DD and said 'come on fatty.. Have a go if you think you are hard enough'.
I suspect the club won't persue those fans who have cancelled due to the **** storm it will bring.

Sure, and the club won't rename the ground either.

I think that's probably the stance I'll take. I got the letter from the club this morning showing the direct debit payments for next season and again there is nothing about a change in Ts and Cs, so they can get to ****. I'll still probably go to some games but I'll pick and choose them. Giving up the season ticket is not entirely due to the Ashley factor but the capitulation in two successive transfer markets has pissed me right off, although incidentally the more I think about it the more I think we'll spend a decent amount of coin in the summer - I just don't think we can afford not to tbh and we'll have £50-£60m in the bank. It's also the cost (I probably spend £20-£30 per match on top of the ticket), the Saturdays and Sundays I have to write off, and most mates don't go anymore due to family etc so it's lost it's appeal. When the fat controller fecks off I'll re-assess the situation.

Christ it's lost another of my posts! I suspect it'll appear at some point in the future as the one I lost earlier has now appeared in post #12. Could be related to post length?

There is another option if you don't want to risk it...
A mate of mine put his ticket on Viagogo for all the big games which puts him into profit.. He then goes to some of the lesser games almost for free..

Hmmm, great in theory except that I put my seat up for sale on there for the Man City game when my mate came over to visit from the States and I got us two seats together, and while all the other seats in my section were one price (basically the club list price plus a couple of quid or something like that), mine was listed for about £10 above that, so I had zero chance of selling it. I don't have much luck with technology do I?

Just got home to my letter. UP 48p pm.
I rang them and they said it was the membership going up.
I pointed out they could surely add £100 to the membership if they wanted to screw fans and the cockney lady said the club would never do that to fans.
I simply said 'why not....they have done everything else... Thanks for your time.'

Notice the chaps name on the bottom of the official letter.... Mr Tickle..... oh lordy...

http://www.themag.co.uk/the-mag-articles/newcastle-united-send-inflammatory-letter-fans/?

I cancelled my season ticket for next (2014/15) season, I did this at the end of January in disgust at what is being done to my/our club by the owner Mike Ashley.

The February payment was the twelfth and last one of my direct debits for the current (2013/14) season and that was it, or so I thought.

Some 3 whole weeks after cancelling for next season I have received a copy of the letter to fans below, which starts;

SJPSign1‘I am pleased to confirm your payment schedule for your 2014/15 Newcastle United season ticket. This correspondence replaces any previous notifications you may have received.’

I was straight up the club this morning as I don’t trust them (Ashley etc) one bit, although I actually feel sorry for the staff having to do all his dirty work and put up with a llot of the anger caused by his running of the club.

The person I spoke to explained that everybody had got this letter whether they’d renewed or not, which just about sums up the mickey mouse way Ashley runs the club. Probably the person capable of deleting names from the season ticket list got made redundant in the latest round of cuts!

In the letter it refers to Newcastle ‘sitting 9th in the Premier League‘, it was only on February 11 that Southampton won and pushed United down to 9th, so that is at least two weeks since I cancelled and they still haven’t bothered/weren’t capable of removing me from their list.

It gets better (or is that worse?), loads of my mates have tried to cancel since I did, some have been successful after not being browbeaten by the ticket office staff, who are obviously going to be shot at dawn if X number of fans successfully cancel.

There are still a canny few in dispute with the club and the ticket office insisting they can’t cancel, even though the payments don’t start until next month, the ticket office claiming that the deadline was 31st January. Which looks like an absolute load of rubbish as when my mates (and me) started the ten year deal the date we were given for cancellation was 28th February and we have never ever had a change of that date despite a few seasons having gone by.

So my mates who are still in dispute are furious at getting this letter which is telling them how great everything is and what great value their season tickets are….especially when they don’t bloody want them!

An extra laugh is given by the fact that while thousands of fans are battling to get themselves out of this direct debit trap set by Ashley, the letter also says that they are adding an EXTRA(!!) three years onto the scheme. My mates aren’t impressed and if this is something that Ashley thinks will make disgruntled/trapped season tickets reconsider, then he’d better think again.

It sums up Mike Ashley, he thinks making things cheap(er) will buy off people but what we all want isn’t ‘cheap’, what we want is value for money.

An ambitious club, owner and fans who will all dig deep to make Newcastle United the best it can be, past times have shown that when the fans believe in what’s happening they will always find the money.

We are not buying cheap socks at his discount shop, what we want is a football team and club to be proud of. One day.

"At he time of writing we are sitting 9th in the Premier League
and we are very much looking forward to what we hope will be a successfull campaign in 2014-15"

I wonder what they class as being a 'successfull campaign' ???
because it's not for trying to win the cups and it's not for trying to get a European place

Those who did cancel....Chavez received this letter today... Basically saying nufc cocked up with their last DD payment and that the supported needs to ring them on a premium rate number to rectify... More bad form..

A mate rang the box office on Monday afternoon and told hem his DD was being cancelled and the wifey on the end of the phone basically told him that if he did he would be in breech of contract and 'further action' would be taken.
I personally think she was talking out of her arse to him but nevertheless I thought I'd share that particular nugget.... it's clear people are still cancellng their DD's though.

I'm still waiting to see what they have proposed for me
I've had no letter to date

plus I also heard Pardew spouting that he will have a considerable kitty for the summer transfer window
seems I've heard that one before

sounds to me they are trying to get people to renew their tickets with this garb
they should of thought about that when the spent nothing in the last year

why anyone would want to invest their money for a new season ticket when the owner can't invest in the team is beyond me
and that's coming from someone who has only missed 1 game at home in 40 years

season Ticket money should not be taken until August 1st
by then we should know what their intentions are in the transfer market,
they'll have a couple of months from the end of the season to get deals done
as we know the last minute deals are normally panic buys

it's a differcult decision for me at the moment what to do
