No need to apologise I just comment on what I see. I don't really go with the whole 'Mind Games' rubbish from Maureen, although that's what he's trying to do, it falls down flat every time because he comes out with a ton of ****, that most recently Wenger has simply batted into touch.
If you don't think what he did was shrugging off the comments then we obviously watched different interviews. I work with a load of Chelsea fans that came in just waiting to get the **** ripped out of them after those comments. Literally everyone i know who likes football have agreed mourinho made himself look like a right tit. This viewpoint was shared by the tons of ex-players and pundits who slated mourinho for his comments. The bbc live feed was filled with twitter extracts from these type of people ripping on mourinho and standing up for wenger. Your the first person I have interacted with in regards to those particular comments and wengers reply who has taken it the way you have. Him saying "I'm not going to discuss his silly, disrespectful comments, it's more embarrassing for him than it is for me" is hardly him rising to the bait or getting involved in a spat. He handled himself with class and responded really well. I'm not saying mourinho doesn't attempt mind games etc... But in this particular circumstance all he did was a ke himself look a right tool. And if a couple of the ****ty rags for the unintelligent made a couple of cheap headlines out of it that's to be expected. If he had said no comment they would have just had some story about how he wouldn't respond. A story can be made from anything and I'm sure the odd paper ran with "wenger calls Chelsea embarrassment" but the overwhelming reaction to me seemed to be that mourinho had made himself look stupid.
And mourinho may have wanted a reaction out of wenger, but he didn't want to be made to look stupid. He likes to come across Like the clever one who has done the winding up, not the idiot one who has been wound up lol
The fact of the matter is that it doesn't matter if he looks like a tool or not. He doesn't care, he has no shame at all. His objective, for anyone looking at the big picture, is simply to manipulate the media into talking about things other than his team losing and his rival's teams winning. And that's exactly what happened in the aftermath of the game ... Wenger commenting on it resulted in the headlines being about that, rather than us triumphing over Liverpool. Simple fact is that I'm looking at the big picture, and the only person who profits from this is Mourinho.
That I can agree with. Also you're right to point out that the media lap it up, but it doesn't take any pressure off of Chelsea in the bigger picture though, it just gives the hacks some fodder for their back pages.
Cesc Fabregas has hit back at Jose Mourinho, telling the Chelsea boss to 'mind his own business' after his criticism of the current Barcelona team. Mourinho claimed the current Barca side is the "worst in many, many years" ahead of Barcelona's Champions League clash with Manchester City in midweek. Fabregas insists Mourinho's barbs did not provide motivation to Barca in their 2-0 win at the Etihad Stadium, and feels the former Real Madrid chief should focus on his own side Chelsea. "He should talk about Chelsea and their tie," said Fabregas. "I don't think he should talk about anything else. It is not his business. "If we have to get motivated by Mourinho's comments, we shouldn't play football. We are top of the table, in the cup final, in a good moment in the Champions League. "Some people want us to fail all the time, some people have been talking a bit too much, for a few days they will have to shut up." Fabregas was happy with Barca's performance against City, feeling they controlled the game at the Etihad as they gained a two-goal first-leg lead to take back to Camp Nou. "I don't think he (Mourinho) should talk about anything else. It is not his business." Cesc Fabregas "It was about controlling the game," added the former Arsenal star. "We know they are good on the counter and when they play offensive football, they play it very well. "They know what they have to do, we controlled them very well and we did not let their fans get behind their team. We minimised all their efforts. It was a very complete game. "When you have players like Leo, Xavi and Andres [Iniesta], you can beat them but not if you can't take the ball away from them. We did that very well - we did not let City have the ball. If you do not have the ball, you can't create chances. We have to be very proud. "We knew [City] have scored a lot. I watch the Premier League every week and they have been very superior to all these sides when they have played [at home]. "It is normal everyone gets excited [over this win], especially in a nice competition like the Champions League. We knew what we had to do and did it very well."
I think the premier league was a dull place without Jose and now that he is back and bad he has you all talking. Does what it says on the tin
Robby Don't disagree with this. I think he's good entertainment value. I don't buy the 'mind games' rubbish though, I think Maureen makes a Tit out of himself these days.
Maureen slagging off his players in private was recorded and broadcast on Canal+ I agree with Maureen that it's out of order to record a private conversation, but he's way wide of the mark when he says that the media have embarrassed themselves. Once again it's him who has embarrassed himself and Chelsea with these comments. Even if they were made in private, it shows his true colours.
