All the best against Bayern fella's, genuinely hope you do well for two reasons; always want to see English sides (bar Man Utd obviously) do well in Europe and if you guys do well it will creates more fixtures too
When you get good results, more fixtures isn't that a bad thing, because it creates confidence plus momentum...This whole thing of 'more fixtures' as in 1-3 extra games has been played up so much as a major disadvantage, when it's not really that big of a disadvantage, if you're a top team, that's how it's going to be. We beat Everton, and we're going to Wembley, that's 1 more fixture, but a fixture that the whole team will be looking forward to, with lot's of confidence etc.
That's the problem. We have no one decent challenging for Giroud's place. That's why he can philander about and not give a toss in some games because he knows at this moment in time he's indispensable. But I digress. What's done is done. The only thing we can do now is get behind the team. But I won't be shocked if once ask our lack of progression comes down to our lack of killer instinct in front of goal.
In 2011, we beat Barca, who were the best team in the world at the time....And then we lost to Birmingham in the cup final, :-D, with Arsenal it's never simple.
@arseblog: Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Flamini, Wilshere, Ozil, Cazorla, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sanogo
As predicted by many save for Sanogo over Giroud. Thoughts? His head not in the right place or has he been dropped?
Dropped. Classic Wenger punishment. He might even be frozen out of the club for what he did. Have an affair by all means if that's what you want, but don't do it in the team hotel hours before a massive game, you tit.
Definitely related to his off field antics, you don't just drop your first choice striker for a game like this, especially not for some kid with about 2 appearances
Can only think that his head isn't in the right place. Sanogo had a decent enough game against Liverpool, but up against Bayern's CBs it's going to be a really tough ask.
Think it shows girouds head isn't where it needs to be. Also a big show of confidence in Sanogo, hopefully he keeps causing trouble like he did against Liverpool.
As much as I'd like to believe in the romantic notion that Sanogo will play a blinder against Bayern Munich and cement himself in Arsenal folklore, it isn't going to happen. This is a disaster.
Wouldn't go that far, think he is just showing a preference for cazorla, quite possibly a tactical move, maybe for possession retention? Remember podolski hasn't been back from injury for a long time and there is a lot of competition for that left wing spot. He simply hasn't done enough througH the middle to be considered there unless it's when no-one else is available. I like podolski and think he has a place somewhere in this team, wouldn't read too much into him not being in for this game. Think we will see him play more of a role in the run in towards the end of the season.
I was thinking more about Sanogo starting ahead of him, he's still a striker even if he's better from out wide
