Think Stick put this one up about a month ago, loads of money went down on it only to be a nr. On the same day that Curley smashed the bookies. Think one of his horses was in that same race as Heutevent.

Morning, comrades. Hope everyone well. And as it’s getting closer to Cheltenham I hope everyone’s moles, insiders and stable informers are well too. Nudge, nudge, wink, win say no more...

Come on though people liven up. I’ve dozed off 6 times reading this thread!

Here’s a teaser for the great and the good of the forum then. People, give me one reason why Captain Chris will win the CGC and one reason why he won’t. I’ll be awarding bonus points to the best answers.

Will - because they have secretly changed the date of the Gold Cup, but haven't told anyone but Phillip Hobbs and Diana Whateley

Won't - Because even then he will jump right handed and end up running into the Arkle Bar and paying £4.60 for a pint. He will get distracted by the tabacco girls and instead of finishing the race he will be found eating a kebab at four in the morning wearing Heis' trilby and chatting up Reebok's dog!!!

Morning all

Think i may have found one at Wolves 6.00 tonight.... Catching Zeds 16/1. Look at his last run at Kempton, first run for a while and held up and stayed on the finish 6th. Was the only one who stayed on with any purpose from the back in a race that favoured the front runners and he has won off a higher mark at woulves than this in the past

Worth a bet, me thinks so :)

Interesting question re Captain Chris "Red Barrney" - his well publicised tendency to jump right-handed was the reason for me publicly slating his chances for the Arkle on 606 in the early weeks of 2011 and then up he pops at 6/1. He is clearly in the form of his life and if he can go round Prestbury Park like he did in the Arkle then he rates a danger. Big if though, especially if you consider he was beaten 35 lengths in last year's renewal. So here goes:

Will win - if he jumps straight as he is an Arkle winner who has (relatively) successfully stepped up in trip
Won't win - if he jumps to the right throughout.

Winning comments re Captain Chris and the CGC. One bonus point to each contributor.

Will win – is in the form of his life.

Won’t win - because he will jump right handed

But does such a profile make him worthy of a quote of 25/1, people?!? Especially, with the leading protagonists having question marks also hanging over them and the betting, below these 3 horses, containing largely ‘trees’. One of the many punting dilemmas we are faced with at the moment, methinks. Captain Chris obviously has his ‘negative’ points but to counterbalance these those bookie chappies are offering seemingly more than fair odds given his current form.

Incidentally, fair bit of money ante-post right now for All Pepper, who is set to make his debut for Willie Mullins at Fairyhouse on Saturday, in the Triumph market.

Morning,
Don't usually post selections on here but as it seems quite quiet I thought I would chance my arm.
2.30 Sedgefield - Prince Khurram, He ran an interesting race last time, only 4 lengths behind Dawalan, a useful horse for the forums favourite trainer Mr Henderson.
I am kinda going for what I see as better value taking on the Pipe horse, Vieux Lion Rouge around 4/9 at the moment.
It is also 1 of my failings when it comes to betting I stick to the old saying weight stops trains(horses) the Pipe horse has a large weight to carry because of his win, and the very testing heavy ground I hope will see my selection come out on top.
Good luck to all who play today!

Would also expect Mr Pipes 2 hotpots to win today and around EVS will do a double on these.

2.30S Vieux Lion Rouge
3.10H Shotavodka
