In days where commitment seems in short supply, I'll go Debuchy. Has real quality, yet doesn't mind doing the ugly stuff too. Sign of a good player is ability and workrate combined. Plus he overcame an incredibly sticky start. Rather than making excuses or looking for someone else to blame, he just knuckled down.

I'd love the answer to be Sissoko, or Ben Arfa, but it's hard to see past Debuchy or Gouffran. I'll take Debuchy.

Maybe he originally thought he should listen to Pardew but then soon realised to ignore him and play his normal game :bandit:

Hmm I'd say the manager must take a big slice of the credit for showing faith and helping him through. Unless of course the we're talking witchhunt? In which case he was Pardewed when he was doing badly, but achieving despite Pardew when doing well :bandit:

Hmm... continue to have faith in a French international player that is best mates with our best player and whom we have tracked for ages or recall Tavs from his loan spell? Tough decisions Mr Pardew has had to make!

Pity Pardew can't get past the 'hoof it to Shola' tactic.

Also, am not anti-Pardew, then again I'm not sucking him off either

French international or not, he was absolutely shocking and most fans (myself included) wanted him taken out to protect him and the team. I don't think Tav came into it, we always had the option of switching Santon into his natural role and playing one of the younger left backs who looked in form. Or playing MYM or switching to 3 at the back.

As for the hoof it to Shola tactic, I must have been watching a different team to you this season? Prior to our recent run of games and Cabaye's departure, we've played some of the best football this club has produced in a long time.

Also, I'm not pro Pardew, I just like a bit of realism

Definitely Debuchy for me followed by Tiote and Gouffran. All give 100% which is more than can be said about others.

Yes, spot on. I'd say it's a tie with Coloccini but I'd opt for Gouff as I'm generally more keen on attacking players.

The lad isn't the best player in the world but works his socks off – if Ben Arfa could be bothered to follow his example he could be a worldie...

(Instead he's a lazy, selfish liability)

Oh yeah and I like Ryan Taylor actually. Even injured he's better than most of the current lot, wish him well...

Williamson for his commitment and simply being the bloke who got Steven Taylor out of the team.

And colo is a shout, awesome player.

Him and Willo do not work at all. I dare say Saylor would look much better alongside Colo. To me our best combo is still Colo/Willo though.

MYM and Saylor are just too error prone, particularly in the big game deciding moments.

Spot on HS Colo and Williamson work we together.
I think MYM is finding it hard at the moment, hope he is one for the future

No but I saw him a lot when he played for Sunderland complete genius with the ball , I have seen him dribble round the goalkeeper then sit on the ball before putting it in the net , rightly named "The clown prince of soccer" he could add or subtract 10,000 from the gate and was paid 10 quid a week, One game that stands out in my mind was a benefit match for I Charlie Mitten a Newcastle manager/player my memory is a bit hazy on this but it was played at Roker Park Shack was on one wing for the Sunderland team and Mitten on the other wing and when the game was coming to an end they started at one end of the field and passed the ball high in the air from one wing to the other catching it in their instep without a bounce then immediately passing it back they went the length of the field and never a miss, and remember that ball was the old soggy leather ball
