To be honest with the recent form, fans getting more and more angry and the fact it's Villa, I'd expect around 46,000-47,000.

Its been 4 weeks since the last time Newcastle won over West Ham, after that they haven't scored at least one point.

Right, prediction time, to get things moving.

I'm going in with a 2-1 victory.

Remy & De Jong to score.

Newcastle United vs Aston Villa

Premier League
Sunday, February 23
08:30 | 21:30 (GMT+8)
St. James' Park

For me, an additional 3 points is highly beneficial for Aston Villa following their short skid (from 11th to 12th place) on the table with Swansea(10th) overtaking 2 spots next to Newcastle United (9th) followed by West Ham United(11th). The Villas are just 4 points ahead on the clubs under or near the relegation zone. Yikes!

*positions based on the 26th week of the Premier League

Head-to-head (Last 5 encounters)

Aston Villa 1-2 Newcastle United
Aston Villa 1-2 Newcastle United
Newcastle United 1-1 Aston Villa
Newcastle United 2-1 Aston Villa
Aston Villa 1-1 Newcastle United

Top Scorers:

Newcastle United:

Loic Remy (11 goals in 21 appearances this season)
Christian Benteke (7 goals in 21 appearances)

General Statistics:

Win:Draw:Loss Ratio (2013-14 EPL) – Newcastle United (11W:4D:11L)
Win:Draw:Loss Ratio (2013-14 EPL) – Aston Villa (7W:7D:12L)

Average goals in last 10 matches:

Newcastle United – 1.2
Aston Villa – 1.2

Pointers:

Aston Villa are unpredictable this season with the Villa's away victory (1-3) against Arsenal last August of 2013 and an almost recent draw between Liverpool (2-2) last January 19, 2014.

Newcastle United is currently stuck with a 5th consecutive home loss.

Possible Outcome:

Aston Villa are unpredictable this season so it's going to be a tough call to make. I'd settle for DRAW 1-1 since both teams are inclined to get something positive out of this match.

Just sharing! :afro::emoticon-0104-surpr

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is hopeful captain Fabricio Coloccini will be back for this weekend's clash against Aston Villa
.

Argentina international defender Coloccini has not played since New Year's Day when he suffered a knee injury in the 1-0 Premier League defeat away to West Brom.

Now he is approaching full fitness, and Pardew is hoping he could be back for Sunday's visit of Villa to St James' Park and help the Magpies find some sort of form as they are coming off the back of three straight defeats.

"Colo's worked hard, and he's looking better," Pardew told the Shields Gazette.

"He was in all weekend, so he's had four or five days."

Cheick Tiote could also be available after missing the last two games with a hamstring problem.

Colo + Tiote returning would be "like 2 new signings" says Pardew. Good work Mike Ashley.

In terms of the match, Armstrong should be up front with Remy. Why the fck not?

Krul/Debuchy, Colo, MYM, Dummett/Sissoko, Anita, Tiote, Sammy/Armstong, Remy

Subs; Elliott, Williamson, Haidara, Santon, Gouffran, Ben Arfa, Cisse.

Options everywhere from the bench.

The subs bench doesn't make the squad seem so weak.

Sammy ahead of Gouffran??!!

Other than that its a decent side. Just difficult to see how it will create chances in a 442 with Tiote/Anita. Neither can unlock a defence. Not sure what the answer is mind!

No wonder we're not scoring as many as we should be.
