Only just seen this, totally agree. Guly/Kelvin/Jos will probably move on in the summer. Nice to have a welcome to the forum instead of abuse or trolling like other forums I shall not mention.
Yep fair shout about Kelvin in coaching role. I can see us improve goalkeeping options in the summer, our period without Boruc proved that the back up isnt up to scratch.
Take him under his wing you mean? Maybe yes, but daily routine Coaching? Nah, I can't see that from Artur.
I agree, it would be odd to get rid of the current club captain. Being an elder statesman he would be kept on surely.
Guly is leaving in the summer. His contract is up and we won't re-sign him. Davis is under contract for two more year He seems to enjoy it here and doesn't mind not playing. The players seem to like him. From everything I read he sounds like a good influence in the locker room. No reason to get rid of him, unless he wants to retire. Hooiveld is also under contract for one more year. He also seems to like it here. If he wants to play, we probably wouldn't have too much problem finding a club to loan him to. I think we could probably also sell him if we wanted but I think he would probably prefer the loan.
Guly will hopefully go to a Brazilian team and do well over there. Then he'll be a fun acquisition on FIFA 15. Hooiveld will almost certainly be knocked down to fifth choice and he should really look to move for first team football. I don't want to see these likeable guys waste the prime of their careers.
I've read on previous posts, and there seems to have been a bit of uncertainty over whether Guly is leaving at the end of the season or not. He's leaving, there's almost certainly no doubt about it. He's announced it himself. He's said he's sad to be leaving because Saints have been very special to him. I heard that his old club AC Cesena were interested. He's been special to many of us too, and played a big part in the re-birth of Southampton FC. Jos may not be good enough for Saints anymore, but there's also no doubt about his contribution either. A great presence in the dressing room, by all accounts, he'd have absolutely no trouble finding a club in the Championship or Scottish Premier. Saints will miss his fun.
