Just to add a bit of spice to this debate I actually know a couple of MSPs who are a bit anti-kafflick <whistle>

Yes, I think I shall cease and desist. I can acknowledge that some of my puns may be considered offensive to a reasonable person.

Aye, no doubt they exist. But I highly doubt they meet in a darkened smoke-filled room conjuring up Machiavellian schemes to persecute Celtic fans.

...and then watching as the legislation backfires when they see more Rangers fans charged under the act than Celtic fans <laugh>

Rebel already explained that hard figures don't count. What counts is a YouTube video where someone uses the word "even".

Nobody ever claimed that more Celtic fans would be charged under this Act. Certainly not me.

I didn't say it, didn't imply it, didn't ever infer it.

Making up an argument that wasn't even made just to tear it down is the MO of others on this site. I didn't think Dev would do it but here we are.

I'm sure there are some, whether they agree with the core principles of what i am saying or not can see that is what he is doing.

Also, i never said that hard facts don't count. Rather that they do not prove what Dev contends they do. He knows this to be true and he knows exactly why they don't prove his contentions. I can't take him seriously if he contends otherwise.

Your assertion was that the use of the word "even" somehow means that there is a campaign against Celtic fans/Catholics/Republicans/Irish (I'm not sure if you mean all or some of these)

The figures show that this isn't the case. As I said earlier those who are against this bill can be best described as maladaptive. This is exactly how I view you; someone who doesn't want to accept legitimate change if it interferes with their agenda.

In that case you misunderstand my assertion.

I really don't care what you think of me, or anyone elses who opposes this legislation. You are filled with a self importance that the quality of your argument doesn't merit.

It makes for lovely sound bites. I'll give you that.

The difference between us being that I have no underlying intentions, other than being a Celtic fan, in this argument. Thereby, in the context of this being a football board for discussing Celtic, that my position is more honest, valid and evolved than yours.

<doh> Are you for real? There's no one on here more self-righteous and full of it than you.

It is not up to you to define it means to support Celtic for the many thousands of supporters around the world.

I'm sure you wholeheartedly believe in your self validated argument. To me, it's arrogant, closed minded and not conducive to productive debate. That is my opinion. Not better than yours, but equally valid.

I won't leave you behind if i take over at Celtic.

Yes. I am serious. I contend the points of an argument. I don't opine for the sake of it.

If that communicates as self righteous then i'm prepared to accept that. I'm sorry you read it in that way.

Apparently his argument has more quality than mine, apart from the fact it clearly doesn't, it is patently clear that Rebel cannot just be a Celtic fan.

He is a Celtic fan with caveats. Caveats such as singing songs glorifying terrorists at a football match, caveats such as how Celtic FC and Irish Republicanism are inextricably linked.

I'm completely aware of my own self-importance & intended glibness. Neither of these reduce the effectiveness of my cogitation. <whistle>

    You don't debate, you opine.

I'm quite happy for people to debate the merits of my postings. It's why i make them.

If they can be torn down. Do it. Don't do as others do and invent arguments for me.

"As Celtic fans, we have even more reason to be fearful about the Bill, given Justice Committee Chair Christine Graham’s view that the law should be seen as an ‘evening-up’ process, allowing the criminal law to capture Celtic fans as well as those of our city rivals."
