    Simple question , why or why not also. I say no because we will be rebuilding and Monk will be demoted to make room for someone people will move to the club for. I'd rather say yes and have someone come to the club to handle transfers, but just ain't going to happen that way. These are important times , hope we get it right whatever happens ..

    Jenkins shook hands with two current Swansea managers in two days and new exactly when he was ditching them both before the shake was over.

    Kieran, I know you don't like roofjack, but can you please refrain from going round and disliking his posts, its annoying me now, we are not in school. After all you disliked the OP, and then replied calmly to it, you disliked his "lol" and then you respond with "lmao" its petulance.

    Unlikely ,but maybe as someones No2 , ,he needs to complete his coaching badges to be considered as a long term candidate ,and he's a good couple of months off completion.

    As it stands I believe that Monk is doing a caretakers job until the club can find the right guy to take over. However, if results for the rest of the season are good, and performances improve, then maybe Monk will have earned the right to have a crack. As it stands, Monk has done a sterling job in my opinion, but it is still to early to say he should lead us into next season.

    My sentiments as well. Sad that some people seem to want him to fail and seek to denigrate him at every opportunity.

    Ideal scenario would be a storming finish to the season and Monk given a two-year contract.

    Would be great to enjoy the first summer in ages without any speculation regarding our manager.

    If we do get another manager I'm hoping Monk will still be near the bench in some sort of assistant role because I think he is very respected by the players , even players that were close to Laudrup. The better we do for the rest of the season , without any drama , the more Monks chances are to remain in charge . What happened to Kieran , I don't care if he hits the "dislike " button on my posts , hope its just a short ban .

    Its a 24 hour ban for something he said on another thread, wouldnt ban him for clicking dislike lol, just seemed a bit childish as he seemed to be following you around, which is why i mentioned it, but no thats not why he was banned :)

    As a manager, whether he leaves of his own accord or he is fired, whether he makes it to the end of the season or continues beyond, Monk's time at the Liberty started to count down the day he took the job. That's the nature of any manager's life. Monk is not going to be any different.

    HJ did not do Monk, as Mr. Swansea, any favors by appointing him manager because it guaranteed that one day he would leave the club. In a way, Monk has been sacrificed in the "best interest of the club". The risk that Monk will either be fired or asked to step down is very high at this point in his coaching career and especially at this level of the game regardless of which Club he started with.

    Curtis' book is worth a read if only for the anecdote about his time on the coaching staff of the club and his conversation over the then open manager's position with the Chairman at the time. The Chairman didn't want to appoint Curtis manager because of the inevitable fact of life that at some point he would have to sack him or ask him to leave and he didn't want to have to do that to Curtis. The Chairman had true regard for Curtis and the meaning and value of the man to the club. As a result Curtis has been a valuable point of continuity from manager to manager and in between managers.

    Monk, I fear, has been used. He would have been better served, and better groomed and developed in his post-playing career along a different path.

    ===================================

    Curious .... I don't want to side track this thread, but it just occurred to me that Curtis has been a first team coach since Laudrup's arrival. If the players had a beef over training blah blah blah, why were these issues not worked out through Curtis .... were they? Perhaps somebody can shed some light.
