I'm pretty sure no club is going to pay a 28 year old Rooney 300k a week, it's not like he's getting better or getting any younger, he hasn't been great this season, and he's on the wrong side of his 20's for another club to offer him 300k a week. He's a top quality player, but no way is he worth 300k a week. If Rooney does sign with United though, it'll just be for the money, 4 year contract worth 300k, take him to 32, and then he can go off to the states and end his career there.

They are 'trying' to fit in with FFP now, so if they do get Rooney on 300k a week, that's going to cost them a lot of money, they'd probably have to offload 3 players just to make up for that massive wage bill. But I doubt Rooney will join Chelski if United offer him that much money, he's just going to look at the $$$, he will see he's approaching 30, and he knows he isn't going to get such a good contract afterwards, so might as well take it....All that talk of 'ambition' and bla bla will suddenly miraculously disappear and he will be satisfied playing for an average United that won't even be in the Europa League. And speaking of how average United are, just compare the gulf in quality between them and Liverpool, how the mighty have fallen.
