Just like Manchester United are still known as Newton Heath. Prince changed his name to a symbol because he didn't like what the owners of his contract were doing to him. Are you suggesting we all write slave on our cheeks as a protest at becoming Hull Tigers?
Perhaps that is because he is a symbol and does not have a name, which is why he is referred to as 'the artist previously known as Prince'. It's a good example though, he, just like Alllam, is undoubtedly talented, but as crazy as Coot; where you are simply stupid.
he had to change his name to get out of his contract with a record label... thought you'd have known that.
I wouldn't know that because it isn't true. He kept his name but choose to be identified by a newly created symbol that he felt expressed his sexuality; the name Prince was always with him and used as a reference point. He drifted back into its full use almost 14yrs ago. He was daft, you still are . . . Thought you'd have known that.
Its been redirected since around June last year ... do keep up ... (only kidding about the keep up part)
oh you have just made my case! so if changing your name doesn't change anything.................................... WHY THE ****ING UPROAR ABOUT CHANGING TO HULL TIGERS? Can't have it both ways.
Hmm, maybe there's actually some truth in his dubious claim of working in America, but currently being in England? http://www.independent.co.uk/news/weird-news/us-facing-national-clown-shortage-9135575.html
Prince changed his name to stop his record company using his real name to sell cds. Once his contract expired and he moved away from Warner Bros he reverted back to his real name. In the meantime his record sales went down. An example of a name change resulting in less income. Prince was happy because he saw out the end of his contract and obtained his artistic freedom.
I think someone was confused about where to post the FA postcard, this is the donation box at the National Football Museum... please log in to view this image
