According to the DM - Step away from the panic button. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...rsenal-shock-suitors-Swanseas-Ben-Davies.html Swansea City defender Ben Davies is drawing interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs despite signing a new four-and-a-half-year contract before Christmas. The 20-year-old Wales international has been monitored by Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and, surprisingly, Atletico Madrid in recent months. All the clubs are in the market for a left-back and while Davies may not be the No 1 choice for all he is figuring prominently on their list of potential buys
If need be we must up his contract whilst putting him on a mega release clause. Ben Davies is a Neath boy through and through and loves the Swans it's in his blood, like his family and like JA but like one Joey Allen sometimes money/prestige talks.
Any thoughts? I would be absolutely gutted if he left, like when one Joey Allen left (Even though we got a good pay day for him) If he left we'd best get 'mega' money for him or I'd be tampin' I suppose it's not worth being concerned about until the summer, at least. Ben will always do his best for Swansea City Football Club.
There's no need to be concerned yet but considering his obvious abilities we need to renegotiate his contract, whatever it is. Sooner rather than later, we've f*cked this up a couple of times before. Speaking of Manchester City, what's Emyr Huws doing? Currently at Birmingham on loan after doing nothing. He had 'BIG' potential, should had stayed with SCFC. Darren Crapley's career has really taken off since leaving us.
Players come players go, That is what they are in football for and we are a feeder club for any big club just like 90% of the rest are. Im not at all surprised that Davies has been noticed by the big clubs...
Kieron, why have you commented on your own thread three times in the first 45 minutes of posting the first one, lol? I think you're right. We needn't worry if it's just the DM spouting it and he's still contracted for a bit yet. If Neil Taylor is fully fit, he'll replace him well enough if he decides to go and it'll be a decent pay cheque for us.
Sorry mukka just went on a bit of a mad 1. Honestly speaking though I think we need to renegotiate his contract to one which includes a 'mega' money release clause. EDIT - He's every bit as good as one Joey Allen in his role.
Agreed, but IF he left the club I'd be tampin' if we didn't get big money for him, he's every bit as good as Joe Allen in his position and he's only 20 years old. That's why I want us to sort his contract to include a big release clause, then if he wants to leave and offers come in then good luck to him. EDIT - Whilst he signed a new deal recently it doesn't mean sh!t when offers come in (Ask Tottenham) Hopefully he's already on a release clause ...
For a real good price for Davies , SOLD!. It's a business along with being a sports club . Big interest in any player should be advantaged, same as Ki . Sunderland have a big interest , SOLD! . Frankly , I'm not sold on either player so it's an easy decision for me . Big offers SOLD!
IF Ben Davies leaves then I hope to f*ck we get big money for him because he has huge potential. In regards to Ki, that decision is up to SCFC, Ki said himself that his future was uncertain when asked about potentially staying at Sunderland. ''We'll see after the World Cup''
Is this the Ben Davies that someone reckoned was the worst defensive full-back he had ever seen....or have we got two Ben Davieses? Neil Taylor - knows how to do kamikaze back-passes more like!
Who? Me? I never said that once. I thought he had a dodgy run but always acknowledged he would come good and had played very good previously. He wasn't great against Tottenham, was he? EDIT - He was outstanding against Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaardiff and very good against Stoke too.
Fair enough mukks just wondering if you knew anything about the lad. I 'know of him', he's sound and loves his family and his area (Neath).
Same guy , I'd actually push a sale to Man City, big money and he'ed probably be expected to ramble forward in there set up . Taylor is already to go and we just grabbed a young left back in the window , theres Jazz . Only for great money though SOLD,
Davies is young and if i was to offer him advice i would tell him to seriously think about it and weigh up all the options because Its all well and good getting a few thousand pounds more each week if you are not going to be included in the first team, If you are happy with that then fair enough but if you want to keep learning your trade by playing in the first team then forget about the get rich quick scheme and stay with us for a couple more seasons. If you are good you will soon earn a lot of money anyway and your value will increase...It rarely pays off leaving for higher wages when you are so young...not many make it and end up back in the lower leagues....
No, not you. But at least you've ditched all those hash-tags. I'm trying to work out if KieranDaviesSCFC is an anagram of Knackeredjack. Nope, there's no 'J'.
