He'll be on one of those TV shows where they're lifting morbid obese people out of the side of their house with a crane after demolishing a wall, or through the roof.

Nobody but a handful even know what A. Rooney is currently on, and B. What he will be on.

I also dont care what he gets paid, its effects inited less than any other club. Its a hell pf a lot less risky than what you lot will be paying suarez.

Whatever hes going to get paid is more than anyone canndream of but tbf, none of us put the effort into becoming a highly successful footballer.

Rooney has also helped us secure van Persie and mata's signature just by being Rooney. Both are quoted as saying hes a big reason for them moving. We also earn a fortune off rooney for marketing, something you wont be able to exploit so well with suarez.

Not sure why any scouser is complaining, your wage bull is worse than ours when turnover is taken into account.

Complaining? When it's announced that Rooney has a 5.5 year deal I'll have a drink in celebration

If it makes you happy too then it's #winwin so <cheers>

  4. I've recently found myslef quite liking a small part of Rooney. As a Liverpool fan, you have to appreciate the arse raping he's giving Man Utd :)

To be fair... I'd take Rooney at Liverpool to be backup for Sturridge.

    For 300k

    Yen

    a year.

Lets be honest, rooneys a **** but hes done a hell of a lot as an individual and a team player at United. Hes the biggest name we have and is a huge marketing tool.

Hes often played second fiddle to others bit hes earned his standing as our top player.

His contract also allows us a huge pay out when some daft club comes in for him on a few years.

  7. He's on the sort of money that the very top world players are over the moon to earn yet he's not even the best player at Man Utd!

You say it allows you to negotiate a big transfer fee, I think it hampers it as no buying club is going to want to pay those wages, never mind those wages plus a big transfer fee!

Do you know what those players are on?

    #6209
  10. No idea of the exact amount but then, that's pretty much the case with Rooney too. All us mere mortals can go by are the reported figures in the media. however, don't let stop you hiding behind your usual "all Not606 users are accountants and in know" argument :p

Let's be honest, Rooney has peaked and no one is coming in for him on those wages and that physcial condition

  13. Fair enough, just know you well enough to know that there is usually a alternative motive to most questions <laugh>

TBH, I see Rooney for you guys in a similar light to Gerrard for us a few years ago; he is worth far more to Man Utd than anyone else and therefore won't be moving clubs.

Rooney will most likely be the highest paid player in the world outside of Ronaldo & Messi (when he eventually signs his new contract). He is a very good premier league player but to me that is excessive for a player who doesn't perform consistently over a season and can't seem to keep himself in top condition throughout a season.

But let's be honest with the new TV deals I really wouldn't be surprised if we see more and more players earning 300k a week. It seems an outrageous sum of money for someone who has not even been near the top tier of players over the last 4 years but its the way football is going. When Man Utd paid £30m for Rooney & Ferdinand it seemed like a massive amount of money now we're seeing all the top 6 clubs buy a £30m (or close) player every season almost. I bet the likes of Antonio Valencia, Javi Garcia, Victor Moses etc. are now pushing 100k a week which is ridiculous but its just how football is.

  17. True, but they bought Rooney and Ferdinand in 2004 & 2002 respectively!

I was just making the point that £30m for a defender and then £30m (ish) for a young player were viewed as massive at the time. I know they didn't sign them at the same time. Buying a player for £30m was crazy enough (at the time) but then they went and bought a teenager for that amount 2 years later.

  19. That amount for a CB and young player would still be seen as high IMO

To be fair. Rooney probably sells a lot of shirts. In developing nations of SE Asia, they want a name and Rooney is a household name.

Rooney IS the face of United... not a very pretty face but we all look alike to Asians anyway.

Lose Rooney and they lose more than a good footballer- they lose their face. Who else at United now could be the next face of United? Persie... Vidic... they both likely leaving.

Mata is a good player but not a marketing icon. Fellaini has too much pubic hair.
