... might happen of course ... but I'm not quite sure where you get your strength of assertion from at this point, other than, perhaps, some 'wishful thinking' <laugh> ... until Wednesday (at least) we are still the 'in form' team in the division whilst many of our rivals are stuttering ... we have our full first team squad fit and our January transfers in were supplemental to a squad already performing extremely effectively rather than wholesale changes required to change / shore up wilting performance ... still, que sera sera

Full respect to the position you are in but having watched the football this year us included it's been poor
Even so when we do get on it then we are a lot better than any team in this division ... We don't win games of course and don't get nothing for controlling games as we have done
I based my wild dreams on at last us clicking and playing to our full potential
Foxes have ground out great results and deserve this lead 100% I just feel your game isn't as good as the teams below you and in this last third I think it will show eventually

I just don't believe foxes will win this league

... who for instance? ... I'm not being arrogant here (or even wanting to provoke you), I'm just interested as to what you might be basing that comment on?

    Of those teams below us:
We drew 1-1 at home to Burnley but arguably edged the contest in all but goals
We won at your place - might have ridden our luck a bit at times, but that is football - but we did what nobody else had done up to then ... we scored and we won.
We've beaten Derby 3 times this season ... the last, 4-1 at our place could have been double - the best all round team performance by a Leiceter City side in 10 years (for me)
We lost 2-0 at home to Forest (our only defeat at home) but as Kenny Burns has written in an aricle today, they had to defend for 89 minutes ...
    We've beaten Reading at home
In fact of the top 15 teams we've only failed to beat 3 of them Burnley, Forest and Brighton ... and have only lost to the last two ...

We may indeed finish below the top two, there is a long way to go ... but I haven't really seen any team yet that I'd swap our current playing style or ethos for ... only Derby have scored more goals than us ... and, as mentioned, we've played them 3 times and beaten them 3 times ...

Imo Leicester will win the title. Have the best performing squad with little (or no) injuries that I have heard of.

Of course it can change, but the points cushion should be enough. They have done what we were doing when we went up in 2011 - turn draws into wins, and turn losses into draws.

For sure they will be top 2, but I think they will win the title - they have been by far and away the most consistent.

Leicester should be comfortable now. One team catching them would be something but there isn't two teams that are good enough to make up the ground without them totally blowing up. Since I love the stats here's a few regarding the games remaining for the top 5.
Leicester 16 games remaining (8 home 8 away)(8 against top half team, 8 against bottom half team).
Burnley 15 games remaining (8 home 7 away)(9 against top half team, 6 against bottom half team).
QPR 16 games remaining (7 home 9 away)(7 against top half team, 9 against bottom half team).
Derby 16 games remaining (8 home 8 away)(6 against top half team, 10 against bottom half team).
Forest 16 games remaining (8 home 8 away)(8 against top half team, 8 against bottom half team).

So while stats like that don't really make any difference in terms of what will happen, it helps in showing little things that could make or break a teams chances...for example QPR having less homes games than the rest, but then again most of our games are against bottom half teams which we've at least been able to win mainly so far (12 wins 2 draws 1 defeat).
Burnley have to play many more games against top half teams. So far their record V top half is 6 wins,7 draws, 1 defeat.
Derby have what looks like a nicer end to season with 10 of 16 games against bottom half teams. So far they're unbeaten against bottom half teams...10 wins 4 draws 0 defeats.
Again just a bit of fun for those that likes stats so don't be telling me it all means nothing and that footballs a funny old game. What I would say though is for those that have given up on an auto place already shouldn't even if we're a bit ****e at the moment.

Apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere, don't have time to read through every post, but it was mentioned in commentary yesterday that the reason that the Morrison loan deal has not gone through yet is that we are waiting so that the loan period will include the play offs. Sensible planing I think but I still believe that we can make second. Burnley are having their fair share of draws and we have a game in hand but we need to pick it up NOW.

Interestingly, it was about this time that we started to wobble in our last promotion year. Then we have Alegate to blame, what is the excuse this time?

Also on another thread people have been having a go at Arry. Don't understand that personally. I am sure he will walk if we don't go up, not sure if he will stay if we do go up. But he needs full support for the rest of the season. Losing two of our best players in Austin and Philips plus Faurlin who was just starting to capture his form would have been a big body blow to any manager.

Some more stats after 30 matches...

    First ten matches W8 D2 L0 F12 A2

    Second ten matches W4 D4 L2 F12 A8

    Third ten matches W4 D2 L4 F13 A14

We've seen the way we've played all season, where are there any grounds for optimism? If we continue our decline in form we won't make the play-offs, it's not being alarmist, it's being realistic. The way we're playing is more like a bottom half of the table side and the last twenty matches would have us about 10th.

As for DT's tosh about winning the league by ten points, you must be on something hallucinogenic mate...

Perhaps I'm being overly pessimistic, but probably our greater concern right now is maintaining our current 10 point gap to Brighton in 7th place for the final playoff spot, who after tonight's night 1-1 FA Cup result against Hull now have an additional game to play.

I'm sacrificing the Forest home game and have booked a fortnight in mid April. I don't think I could handle being abroad and Rangers playing at Wembley without me. Anyway as for the play-offs, we're still only four points off of Burnley with a game in hand. I'm still fairly relaxed that we can do it automatically, and it won't be the end of the world for me if we don't. We could be playing in the Conference and I'd still be going.

If we carry on like we have,I think we will be lucky to get a playoff spot. I think we have been found out a bit and we had a very fortunate start. We are solo not ready to get promoted. We would have to sell most of the team, then buy more average players and we spent 2 years of misery in the perm(apart from Chelsea/Gunners wins!)

<laugh> no need for us to do any crawling, we are top of the table (if you didn't know) so heads held high! As for your manager, maybe he will Crawl under a stone and do some twitching!

That is very likely entirely accurate.

I know I need to wash my mouth out but we need to do what Leicester have done and build a team.

... spot on ... and my last post was just a little harmless fun ... the poster in question had actually written that there were 'better' teams below us .., with that I would disagree ... our 'team' is as good as any in this division ... some of the individuals may not be as good as those at other clubs ...

We will be lucky to make them and don't have a winning record against any of the top 6, our form has got even worse since we played them all.

Nothing suggests we will win them should we even make it.

We're certainly having to look over our shoulder now rather than what's a head of us & the gap is getting a little to close.
