I'll be dead honest with you here. At the minute you're doing very well, scoring plenty of goals & are capable of blowing teams away with your firepower. However, I'm still not buying Rodgers. Last seasons tikataka style has been replaced with counter attacking, pace driven, long ball over the top chasing, football. Which is not the 'building' that I hear talked about by him, as his default style was dying on it's arse last season. He's been fortunate imo, as he's inherited a genuine world class striker & then him (& the committee) have bought another quality PL striker to play along side him. Stick those 2 in any side on the planet & you'd score hatfuls of goals. Time will tell if he's 'building' & I'm wrong, but I've still firmly got him in the 'fraud' envelope.
"If we only consider this season, there is just one club in Manchester and it is ours," he said. "But you cannot forget what United have done in the previous years. We are aiming to keep growing by winning many trophies - not just national but international trophies." How can you disagree with what he said? You've been poor this season Matth no matter how much it makes you cry
He's just wumming, needs to win a hell of a lot more and find some fans to put in the stadium before making claims of being a big club.
This is so obvious that it does not deserve stating. The level of dominance exerted by Ferguson was frankly unreal. Considering the financial power of so many premiership clubs - not only Chelsea and City but also Arsenal, Spurs and even the scousers, to dominate the league for so long and challenging every season was like a fairytale. This will not ever happen as I cannot see any single club dominating over 10 years never mind over 20. United fans will have to accept that if /when United do get to the top again by overtaking City or Chelsea, it will take a superhuman effort not to be knocked down again by other top clubs.
In fairness I think it does need stating mate. As I think there's some of your fanbase who, whilst they're prepared to accept a period of 're-building' post Ferguson, expect to be back challenging every year, in the none too distant. Top 4 will be seen as a pre-requisite in any other season than this one...
Like any club Utd have a hardcore of loyal supporters Tobes and we know they always have had by their attendaces pre Fergie through their mediocre times, the expansion of OT came with the success of the Fergie years and their club's financial might. But if the gloryhunters do jump ship they'll still survive on 60k average gates, like you I think they will have to lower their expectations and their owners will have to release more money for them to compete with City and the Chav's.
I 100% disagree with him. Best team this year ? Yes 100%. But City will be a smaller club than United for a while yet. So one poor season suddenly makes United a smaller club than City ? I take it last year Everton were a bigger club than Liverpool then ?
He meant better I think, he doesn't seem the sort to be stupid enough to make a statement saying they're bigger when they're not
Depends what old kestrel features was basing "big" on, City's owners finances?, a projected decline of Utd? As a club Utd will always be head and shoulders above City in success and global support, if he means big as to this seasons chances of success he's bang on the money.
Be fair they will do better than Chelsea and Arsenal, as they finished above both in the rich list. So there obviously getting there revenue from somewhere
Still banging on about FFP? It will not stop City. You should worry about Rooney taking you for all he can get!
Pellegrini was asked where victory over Barca would leave City's rivalry with Manchester United, who remain in the Champions League but are 15 points off the top of the Premier League in David Moyes' first season. He gave a qualified endorsement of City's current status, saying: "If we only consider this season, there is just one club in Manchester and it's ours, but you cannot forget what United has done in the previous years. "We are aiming to keep growing by winning many trophies, not just national but international trophies. We are fighting for four titles this year. "We have to be patient because you cannot change the team from one day to another. We have to keep the philosophy of the style and for that you need time." ------ Where does he actually say bigger Matth? Or are you talking out your arse again Non story, like your threads
