Expect them to struggle for possession , like we will . Expect them to be without they're top forward Gonzalo Higuain , who 's back took a knock against Sassuolo on the weekend. Expect Bony to be the biggest factor in the game. I expect this line up. Vorm Rangel, Chico , Williams ,Davies Dyer , Britton , Pozuelo , Pablo , Routledge Bony I expect a closely played 1-0 victory for us.
As to the side we'll put out , no idea .If the concentration is on PL survival then a mixture of what we saw yesterday .If we're serious on progressing than pretty much what you've suggested .That with the exception of Pozuelo with Michu in instead then thats the strongest attacking wise for this particular game .Their sharp going forward with two full backs who like to attack so I expect Ben will have his hands full ,the key will be the midfield battle I think we're a little light weight defensively there and with two players with a lower pass success rate than most (Pablo & Pozuelo ) we could come unstuck in that battle . Which ever side he puts out ,he's dammed if he does and dammed if he doesn't.
No room for Lita? C'mon. Seriously, I am not sure that Poz is going to be healthy. What about JDG and Canas - rested for 'Pool? BTW, Pablo looks like he only has 55 minutes in the the tank these days. So if he starts he is going to need to be sub'd early in the second half.
None. I posted on yesterday's game about why wasn't Poz included in the line-up and somebody posted back that he was injured.
I'd actually give Taylor another run at left back. Dropping him will just hurt his confidence. Apart from the travesty of a back pass he looked ok. I also think Emnes may play the false 9 if Pablo does not.
I'm almost hoping he has a mild injury and thats why he's been absent . After playing a part in in 35 out of 37 games under Laudrup , the only other option is he's being blackballed through association .
Hasn't played apart since Laudrup left after playing a part 35 games out of 37 games . ? If he's not injured , why is he getting zero minutes valley
Because he isn't good enough to get into the team at the moment when the likes of Dyer, Routledge and Pablo are fit
Pozeulo thrives in Europa , and played a huge part in all competitions when there was injuries . 2 goals and 3 assists in Europa for Poz in 8 games
We haven't played in Europe under Monk yet. Personally at this moment in time, my strongest line up doesn't include Poz anyway.
So why did Lita get ahead of him in the game v Everton, or what about Vasquez, or what about others, if Everton was really a throw away game like it seems, then if you were right, Pozeulo would have played. Pozuelo is injured, its on the injury list site thingy. Thigh strain if i remember rightly.
Hope he heels quick and slots in soon . I think he has a brilliant future and at such a young age , I just hope that future lies wiith us.Another one of Laudrup s bargains
F*ck knows but for the fans going to Naples you can 'expect' to be stabbed then some mad 'ed will zip off on a scooter* *Probably won't happen, but be extremely careful. Their fans (And OB) have a track record for 'kicking off' against any team in Europe, they aren't fond of us 'Island Monkeys' either
Seabreeze I agree with 10 of the 11 but Pozeulo can't play when Pablo's already there and we've got alternative options. Hope Shelvey's out there, if not then Canas.
Happened to the travelling Liverpool fans when they won the Champions league there, setting up the Heysel stadium disaster as revenge
Naivite is beautiful. I suppose we'll be lucky to get away with a minor loss - my line-up and comments elsewhere...
