Dear oh dear Ponders - you've proclaimed yourself to be a reasonably well travelled chap in the past. You know only too well that not everybody comes to England. I'm not about to get into an argument about which country in europe has the most immigrants as i don't know the facts but on personal experience I would say that France, Belgium, Netherlands and Germany to name but 4 all have significant immigrant populations and, as a percentage of overall population, I would hazard a guess that they're as big as, if not more than ours.
Oh, Dan. Look at the facts about immigration and you will see we have the highest percentage of immigrants in Europe. The percentage of unemployed immigrants in this country is ridiculously large. Belgium and Holland have a mere drop in the ocean compared to our levels.
It's a lot better to feel proud of being English when you pick and choose what to be proud of. Hitler was a decent painter too We use the world for profit = they use us back, it's only fair. It's not middle-class guilt, just simple empathy towards human beings that got dealt a ****ty hand at life and are trying to improve it. Until I see evidence of immigrants ruining this country I'll solidly defend their right to come here and better themselves. My brain is doing fine thanks Shame about yours
Immigration to Europe: how many foreign citizens live in each country? please log in to view this image http://www.theguardian.com/news/datablog/2010/sep/07/immigration-europe-foreign-citizens
And in actual numbers, how many people is that? Please tell? *gets popcorn out whilst Ponders makes a tit of himself*
My God, you have actually used the Guardian's statistics to prove a point about immigration. What next, eh? Will you use the Mein Kampf to teach me the ethics of Jewish genocide. Hold on a minute as I visit the National Front's website for immigration data...
As in? Are you saying we haven't profited out of the rest of the world? Our corporations aren't currently handicapping the growth of third world countries by being pricks towards them? Your ancestors are immigrants to this island too, and before they turned up here their ancestors were immigrants too. How does this weird little fictional line you've drawn in history give you more rights than them?
