Decent display from our third team - Everton didn't create any of their goals, all defensive mistakes! Far more committed display than any under Laudrup in the recent past! Not too unhappy that we are out of the FA Cup! Monk will have learnt a lot about the fringe players after this and, to be honest, many of the players out there today have proved that they are decent back up for our first 11. OK - so we lost, but considering the opposition there is no shame in that - and we gave them a bloody good game with a team full of players that are battling to get into the second team! Still think that this was a far more committed display then anything we saw under Laudrup in the last few months! Stick with Garry - the whole squad is obviously enjoying the new regime!
Haha - David Mad-Cock - you are a w**ker! Same egregious bollox we have had to put up with from the English media for years! Yep - poor little Swansea against the mighty Everton - and to think we had the audacity to score a goal against an obviously superior English master race!!! Yep - DeGuzman was lucky, but your Everton bum boys didn't create any of their goals - all defensive mistakes from a third choice team of players who had not played together before! Go back to your toilet paper rag and report on how the English PL teams - dominated by foreign players - are so much better than us Welsh scum! Wish I had a job like yours - so much easier than working for a living!
Exactly mate, any manager, player, supporter should shake off any 'inferiority complex' because we are a good team and we've beaten much better teams in the Premier League, home and away. I reckon Garry Monk reckons we can beat Napoli too and you can be sure the players will be right up for it. Hope the fans are right up for it too, at least as loud as the game against the scum. So come on Wilfried Bony. Score some goals for Swanseaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. We'll go wild, wild, wild. We'll go wild, wild, wild! SING UP SWANSEA! Bring them on we've got nothing to lose, I hope we go after them in our house, we even battered Valencia at the Liberty despite the scoreline after Alvaro's goal was incorrectly ruled offside and they beat Barca!
What the hell was Monk thinking we all knew he would make some changes but 8 was far to many, with bony, britton, in the team we could have had a chance everton we not that good. and f------ Taylors back pass what the f--- was he thinking then Jaz giving that pen away killed us off until then we had a chance, they 1st goal was lucky the beanpole just stuck his leg out . Play like that on thur and we will get a fuc---- hiding. Is he keeping the 1st team for Sun v Liverpool hope so or that will be another 5 0 lose
Priorities. Squad depth. Conditioning. PL #1, Europa #2, Garry Monk did the right thing, maybe you don't get the news in Australia? EDIT - Lay off the VB mate you sound right off it, Tayls made an uncharacteristic error, it happens mate, he's a good player. Jazz had a solid game up until he gave away the peno. Despite the changes we played well for 60 minutes, step away from the panic button.
Richards , Bartley , Amat , Taylor------- Lamah, Vasquez 5th round of the FA Cup, to try to justify this line up before this game is unjustifiable. The total defence has under 10 premier league games between them, Lamah has 3 and Vasquez , bless him , has 5 . It's actually hard to blame Monk , its probably Monk with the pencil and Huw doing the writing
Listen mukka when I start paying attention to Sports Direct then I know I'm going on a mad 1. Already looking better under GM than under ML, aren't we mush?
When it comes to football you are a moron fair play, could you just go and 'support' ManU. Have you ever been to a Swansea City game in your life? Garry Monk + Huw Jenkins know more about football than you do mark it down anywhere pal. The FA Cup was the #3 priority, we don't have a big squad, Napoli and the 'EPL' as you say in America/Canada are both 10x bigger. We will play in the FA Cup EVERY season. What aren't you understanding about this? The lads out there played extremely well for two thirds of the match, very encouraging signs! Wait until the A-Team shows up.
Seabreeze I don't know if you've ever heard of him but here's JVZ. These people (the board) love the club, and they understand football. Believe in them.
Did any of you notice in the tunnel before kick off Bony came past 2 Everton players and stopped to touch hands and the Everton new boy looked like he was saying who the f... Is he in a disrespectful attitude behind Bonys back as Bony walked away, and the other players face was all like no man he's a bloody good player has scored a **** load over a couple of seasons ! It seemed to shut new boy the f... Up! It was quite funny I thought can any of you boys find a clip of it to see again ?
Not in even your wildest dreams. A game against a crap Cardiff side. A draw away against Stoke. And now, when some real craft had to be applied .... the Everton fiasco. This match was a catalog of bad judgement from beginning to end. It is embarassing that a Prem manager could select such a team and then game manage it the way he did. When I saw the team selected, part of me said interesting, part of me said oh ****. And it went down hill from there. Forget the players, they were used, and they did the best they could under the circumstances. The way the game was managed from Bartley's injury to the sub of Lita instead of Bony with the game still to be won was rank. It's games like this where a good manager and coach come through and the Everton fiasco was not one of them. Based on the Everton fiasco .... we are not better off .... mush
With a fully fit squad at their best I think we have the beating of Napoli at home under Monk, which is why I agree with his starting selections yesterday, although still think he should have brought Bony on with 30mins to go.
Our performances and commitment etc under Monk have improved drastically compared to ML final months.
I will accept commitment but see John Jensen's remarks about that and the players responsibility for it. Allowing for personal bias he still has a point. As for Everton, for me it comes down to two things:- 1) Monk's selections played well for over an hour, in truth exceeding his expectations and definitely ours. Credit for that. 2) With the game there to be won, it was a catastrophic decision not to unleash Bony for 25/30 minutes to give us that chance. Big markdown for that.
As for Jensen's comments, the sooner the truth about what was happening behind the scenes come out the better, so it can be put to bed once and for all.
